Are the forum posters worse than ever? Is it so hard to look into the Technical Issues forum and leave feedback with some data (e.g. fast timers screenshot or description) there?

When was the new version released? If within the last day or 2 (I don't use SL every day), it's possible performance is being affected by everyone slurping down the new version of the client.

Admittedly, it's also possible that it's not being affected, but in this particular situation I don't believe that to be the case (keeping in mind my newbie status).

Cor your a technical bunch arent you......

ctrl_shift_2 - Frame Console

Oh look its not lag its a bug with Updategeom - which means the client is rendering far more than it needs to - meaning its an issue with LOD or Level Of Detail

5:25 Pm CST: Lag is currently out of control
03-01-2006 15:27
SL is practically offline. You can sign in and type your chat one letter at time but otherwise forget it. The lag is off the hook.

My Specs if anyone needs the info:I am on MAC OS TIGER, with T1connection, 1.25MHZ processor for Powerbook G4, 2Gig ram, 80 gig hard drive, no other applications running.

Troy

PS. I never could walk/fly past a few meters in my home sim, Tilitr. So I can not speak for the other sims. However Tilitr almost never gets any lag.

I would have to concur with this assesment. I have been sitting in Cypa with no other avies for the last hour and I am almost entirely unable to move.

It's slow a molasses, not exactly in client fps, but the objects don't get drawn till i am right on them.

It didn't used to be like that on my system. It really doesn't feel like you are in a virtual world anymore.

Wasn't there a particular Linden who said "Let there be lag, and he saw that it was good."
Or something along those lines in the history of SL.
