My first thought on seeing that? 'Hmmmm, someone's truly desperate to hit a number...'

Yeah, I bet that was your first thought. Finish it between wipes?

I saw the "new website" now, too. Hmmmmmm ...

While I am all for simple websites, delivering the message straight, I am not sure at all that a homepage, where someone who is not already a member has no chance at all to get to know more about the product/service sold, is really such a good idea.

Perhaps they figured the less people knew about SL the more likely they would be to sign up.

They ought to try "The Big Red Button That Does Absolutely Nothing" approach, or maybe a fart button.

"Select a name and supply a fake email address to hear the fart noise."

FFFFFFFFFFTTT!

"Thanks for joining Second Life."

"Please select as many account names as you would like, click the Make Alts button when done."

"Remember, you may create new accounts at any time later by using the inworld Make More Alts button"

"Also remember that if you receive a Disciplinary Notice from the Abuse Staff, there will be a link in the email notice that allows the easy creation of a new account with a clean rap sheet."

"If you've grown fond of your account name and don't want to give it up due to your frequent misbehavior, don't forget about the erase rap sheet option in the debug menu."

All in all, SL is pretty hard to sell without someone trying it.

Which means, one should not even make an attempt to supply some reason why I should try? ;)

You really are quite comical. You can find fault with absolutely everything that Linden Lab do. No matter what, there's always something for you to gripe about, pull apart or piss on.

Keep on keeping on.

I'm not bothering Moopf. Come Sunday, and it would be sooner if I didn't have inworld commitments, I'm history.

NOT over the signup issue though, I made my mind up when 1.10 arrived and slashed my inworld performance by half, mainly because LL ignored all the issues bug-reported in Preview my myself and others.

Why has it taken me so long to go?
Well, I had quite a large amount invested inworld and was determined to recover the absolute maximum, which I've done, not easy with the state of the L$, the land market and LL's downright obstructive attitude to users needing to cash out sums over US$2000 - but I worked hard at it and I'm happy with what I managed to salvage.

Anyway - you've had your say. Now allow me to return the compliment.

Your unquestioning support for LL, particularly at this point in time, does neither LL, nor you, any favours. I could comment further on your attitude, but I'll not give you the satisfaction of parading your martyrdom in public.

Just remember my criticism of LL in the light of future events.

YOU on the other hand could very easily tempt me to haunt the forums forever!

Think about it...
