From: SuezanneC Baskerville Has any witness or victim contacted Jeska about it? I emailed Jeska a link to "my" thread after your suggestion Tuesday. She thanked me for the info and said the AR team was looking into it. I replied with the name, but haven't heard anything else yet (not that I'm expecting to). Space

I'd say 'orb' him back.
But you're no longer allowed to defend your own land with robots and/or weapons.
If your friends are being orbed..the only option for you is to ban him as fast as possible.
But even then...he'll just attack you from the property borders.
Sometimes I feel really temped to orb those little annoying people who come to your land to attack your customers with their noobie account and their free bombs and weapons.

Depending on how out of hand its getting I do. A lot of the time I'll just slap my shields on and watch amused as the chaos bounces off of my interceptors and shield, most of the freebies are pretty bad breakers. Most of these guys don't have the werewithal or money to get their hands on an old hand of god, so its all yadni's freebie gunheaven. I've only run into one griefer with a decent shield break. Most of them aren't even packing orbits that will get past my movelock (gun fired prim bullet orbit, no shield break? weak)

Sadly, in my experience, this happens regardless of the precautions taken. Where I worked, we had a person disconnect over 100 calls in a few days before the system (and his manager) figured out what he was doing. That was dozens of VERY unhappy people. Sure, he was fired and tossed to the curb, and he HAD to know it was going to happen, but he did it anyway. Some people just do stupid things. Nobody knows why...

From: MilosZ Milosz YW...CAn only hope this guy gets his volunteer status revoked, at the very least I think for this behavior I'd hope a player would eventually lose his log-in rights. Remember that loosing your account will also lose you your mentor status for no less than than the time it would take to get a new account to Mentor status. It really is too easy to get a Mentor tag. People have long talked about what it would take for a Mentor to lose their tags, right now only denial to one's account will happen. As long as someone can get back to their account they will have Mentor status. I've also seen people who for 1 tiny infraction done as a newbie prevent them from ever being a Mentor. I have to agree that "something" should be done but the question is not just what... but how and where will the Lindens get the resource to "manage" them.

From: someone Maybe LL needs too add or improve its screening process when deciding on its volunteers. What is this "screening process" of which you speak? From: someone I IMd jeska right after he TPd out, she appeared to be online but I did not receive any response from her. Inconceivable!

I suppose what bothers me, is the fact that, I have been on a waiting list for several months to become a SL Mentor and they let fools like THIS be one?
Sorry just had to vent...

Besides torture I don't see any way for LL to screen out potential griefers from the Mentor group. When they show their true colors they get the punishment just like any other halfwit in SL.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville I suppose people are filing abuse reports? How many genuine newbies on beginners isle know about abuse report much less how to file one? By the time they figure it all out they will have forgotten who abused them most likely.

Why is this guy still a SL Mentor and Instructor? There are more worthy people waiting in line for much longer than this guy has existed in SL and yet we have a griefer parading his mentor badge as if it gave him some sort of superiority over others. Some funny observations: Since this thread was posted his partner left him, the dude makes a profile entry with nudes of her and burning images... obviously a psychopath!

There are mentors on Help Island who can file abuse reports if they see misbehavior by mentors, volunteers, or the Linden staff. I certainly would. I'm not aware that this person's misbehavior is confined solely to Help Island. One can get an online indicator, right? God Mode allows him to be tracked.

Yep, I saw all that in his profile. And yet, as of today, he is still a mentor.

Good news. It looks like the griefing mentor was relieved of his mentor duties. At least hs profile no longer has him listed as a mentor. From: MilosZ Milosz Good Morning:
In keeping with policy, I will not name names.
This morning my community was griefed by an individual with a SECOND LIFE MENTOR tag above his name. He came into my place and started orbitting people, about 6-7 people that I received complaints from. He tried to hide this by using channel /3 to dohis dirty work, but fortunately I and another in the club had a collision detector and we quickly determined who was behind thie griefing attack. When confronted, he quickly dropped his mentor tag--a little late-- and teleported away. I ARd him, of course.
I sincerely hope this person has his volunteer privalages revokes, as his behavior was uncalled for and very unproffesional. Certainly not what I would expect from someone LL has given volunteer status to.
Maybe LL needs too add or improve its screening process when deciding on its volunteers.
Regards
Milosz
