I'm having the worst problems building on this last patch..

If I touch the hole setting on a Torus it resets the whole thing, as well as the Taper on the cylinder and cubes most of the time, but not always so I could get used to it..

Also bits and peices are disapearing and reapearing left and right.

The flexi's are driving me nuts as well. I'll think I have it set just right then the SL wind goes bezerk and it starts flapping around all weird, contorting the prims..

1 small build and I need a nap..

Any word on if a fix for this prim weirdness is in the next patch? I didn't see the patch notes for it up in the announcements.

I was running into that last night. Guess it was a good thing I was in a mature sim, 'cuz I was swearin' like a sailor.

Yeah, I've run across these problems as well.

Maybe it's a new performance saving feature by making people less willing to use torii? :D

Has anybody noticed that rotating flexible prims, or a linked set with flexible prims in it using the normal mouse rotation thingy, seems to pick a center point of rotation that bears no resemblance to where it should be?

Gosh, I didn't explain that very well did I! :o

I just noticed you can no longer link phantom prims to non phantom prims and not have them turn solid, this may not be new though, because I haven't built anything in a while

Yeah, I'm also a big fan of the ever-worsening texture application bugs (seriously, it shoudln't take half a dozen tries to texture a cube all at once), the rotation errors, disappearing prims, minutes-late position snapbacks, and more.

I find when they're linked, it's worse.

I hate having to fight with rotating prims. "Oh look I need this thing rotated 90 degrees on the x axis. Let me just enter it in the x axis rotation box. Oh you silly bugger I didn't want it on the z axis I wanted it on the x axis. Let me cancel this out and try again. No on the x axis you stupid prim not the z axis. Hell I will just use the y to fix this. What no that isn't the y axis. Why won't you liten you *** **** *** **** **!!!"

Mmm, great, I'm just learning to build, this doesn't sound like fun, it's enough to learn and remember everything when it works right. Building is what I want to do.

Is LL aware of this, have they said anything about fixing this?

What all he said.

I also still rue the day when it was made so that you have to get OUT of the texture box every time you go to texture a new prim, and then bring it UP again and find your texture again (otherwise the texture you select won't go on).

Nothing quite like last night, though - when my prims would just sproing into an altogether different shape when I tried to stretch them or something.

The "good" side: The increasing amount of these obscure little tricky bugs really does cut down on the competition from potential new builders.

It was easier to build when I joined in February of 2005, but I feel sorry for anyone trying to learn how to build now. There were bugs then, but now there are more and worse ones.

Building classes probably have to spend 50% of their time now on, "Things that don't work like they are supposed to and what you have to do to get around it."

I resort to talking to them like a disobedient child..

"No, no. Could you go over there please? Could you go over there? Good prim! Now, could you use this texture please? No not that one, this one. Well done!!"

Oops, you posted when I was writing my post. Don't get discouraged about building. Join the builder's group I'm in. It is the biggest builder group on the Find (founded by Bob Bunderfield, I believe), and if you get stuck on something, ask in the group chat and we will be able to help you, or tell you if it's a bug and what to do about it.

Don't let these things stop you if building is what you want to do!

Ok, thanks! :)

I guess I will find out just how much I want to build, lol....

I do hope they try to fix these problems, though.

My Textures are not updating when I select a surface to retexture, and change the repeats for Horizontal and/or Vertical, I don't get to see a change for 1-2 seconds. Tried doing this at two different times peak and non-peak over T1 and Cable modem and same Mac OS X, it still happened.

This never happened to me before this update.

Also, if you drag linked objects 5-10 meters using the red/blue/green arrows while editing, parts of the object are left behind in the original location and catch up with the object in a few seconds.

I also have prims dissapearing on me during edit, and coming back when I wait a while or move the camera or stop editing and restart and sometimes no reason at all -- they just come back.

These are all new problems, never had them before.

On the Plus Side, I love the fact that classifieds are auto-renew. I love how they have fields for reporting clicks stats. Do those work btw? Mine are always zeros and I know people are visiting my store through the classifieds ad.

I also love the sell at the best rate option on Lindex. I am sure the money experts in the Land and Economy Frown will well frown but I don't want to to wait for a specific rate at this time. I just want to sell Lindens when I need to and get an immediate sell. So that option works fine for me when I have to sell quickly to pay my land tier fees. :-)

It seems people are still having problems importing but that would be awesome if it works, for many reasons.

That's been impossible for quite a while. It's a real pain, too.

Other complaints are new, though.

Textures take forever to change when editing them.

Changing the shape of a prim is an experiment in randomization. What shape will it become if I try to adjust this? AHHHH! NOOOOO!

Pieces of a build suddenly vanish. They are still there, but sometimes you have to leave the sim and come back in order to see them again. Incredibly disconcerting when the missing parts are the floor and some of the walls of a multi-story building!

Rotate something, and only bits and pieces of it rotate! Sometimes! Completely random!

I could go on for hours...

Look, I make 90% of my Lindens from building in one form or another. These bugs in prim editing are forcing me to take far more hours to complete a task than before.

I haven't even bothered trying anything with flexi prims yet. I'm still fighting to get the ones that I *knew* how to use to behave right! So far, I've seen precisely one product that made superb use of flexi-prims. A hairstyle on a girl that moved just a bit, and still looked like hair, not a Medeusa's nest of tentacles. I'm not even going to attempt to use them until the building tools get fixed.

Not at all happy with the last two releases and building problems.

I've been having the same troubles.

And I'm really in the middle of something I want to complete without throwing my computer out the window.

Really.

Help us.

Oh, I thought this one was just me, some weird connection problem or something. It annoys me more than any other building bug ever, ever, EVER.
