Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and kind advice. I find it interesting how much a few signs placed about the landscape seemed to have cause such an emotional stir. Signs have long been staple good in the realm of political campaigning and protest, right up there with burning bras. In fact, as I understand it, wasn't Second Life's third birthday celebration met with angry protestors bearing ... signs?

It seems to me that a message will often times reach more people when its method of presentation is somewhat controversial.

From: Vonn Neumann
gotta agree with Smith, above, that IS a great name. QUACKENBUSH FOR PRESIDENT!

From: Rotary Fan
I suggest "Peace On Earth" as the controversial political idea to support.

I can see the campaign slogan now:

Impeach
Quackenbush
For President

Thank you ... GREAT IDEA! Perhaps my signs will have a combination of the above.

I'll begin campaign preparation henceforth, as well as my search for a running mate. Let the protests, rallies and bra burnings begin!

OK so correct me if I'm wrong but... Until I meet GeeDub here in SL I find no reason to discuss him here.

So I stick with my always safe quote:
My opinion is, I have no opinion!

It wasn't the signs alone; it was the combination of absolutely horrific, landscape-blighting graphics, his overpriced land, his obnoxious tendency to stack five of them on a plot, and his absolutely hideous attitude. He was a right prat.

I think real life politics should be kept to a minimum in Second Life personally. Make up a group, have meetings and discuss things. Make up t-shirts and wear them proudly. But the billboard thing just makes the land look ugly. I for one am totally against billboards for propaganda. My feelings on politics in SL is summed up in a quote from the late great comedian Jim Varney as Ernest.....EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

IMHO, there's 2 things best not discussed in SL: politics and religion.

Only causes hate and flamewars, in my experience...

But in any case, welcome to SL ^^
