Maybe not much of a solution, but how about if LL took all their servers out of US territory? Wouldn't that also mean that they don't fall under US law anymore, thus 'solving' all of these 'problems' at once?
And no, I have no need no desire to *ever* go to the US. Not because I've done some bad things, but I'm a conspiracy theorist. (all you US citicens who want to stay living in the 'land of the free' better get out while you can!)

From: Darkfoxx Bunyip In plain simple understandable English this means..? It apparently means that child porn is legal, as long as no real children were involved. Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV.

If so all you do is have to watch Japanese TV and you would see what the posters in this thread call "child porn".

Probably the more critical problem is that LL is incorporated under US law, and while that exist, moving the servers out of the US probably won't accomplish much. And I'm sure LL's CFO could list a lot of good financial reasons to stay incorporated under US law.

No thanks... I'd rather be a Patriotic American working to improve the situation here than abandon my birthplace for an "easy out". From: Darkfoxx Bunyip (all you US citicens who want to stay living in the 'land of the free' better get out while you can!)

My crappy predictions:
-I feel outside copyrighted material will eventually have to be removed and thoroughly policed in a way to change the face of SL.
-SL will eventually be ordered to implement reasonable measures to ensure children are not allowed on the adult grid.
-RL anti stalking laws and protection orders will eventually include virtual communities.

Oooh, I hadn't thought of this one before... though I believe to some extent, they might already under the part where "not to contact or attempt to contact" sort of clause in many of them.

What can i say, we rock and its simple as that.. And no big brother is not watching us any closer than your own governments are And saying US laws this and that.. well ours are sometimes not as harsh and sometimes more understanding is given to the offender than your own country would... So no baggin on the US, or i get all worked up, and not in the good way And yes i read numerous papers a day from various countries Ok, the US newspapers suck big uhmm can i say that here?
