Thank you for addressing the inventory issues

I just finished spending some time in the preview of 1.10.3, and trying out various inventory options that had become screwed up by the last update, and everything seems to be back to normal and working as intended. All folders is off by default, you can select a folder in your search results and then click the X to clear your search term while still keeping the folder selected, and after buying an item, the folder correctly appeared in recent items.

While I still don't understand why it was released in its previous state, I am happy that Linden Lab did move quickly to address the problems with a new update. Hopefully the other issues currently plaguing users (the problems with LOD and with disappearing prims during building specifically) will be addressed soon as well.

Thank gawd. Now I can change my outfit. :)

Can we get that bug that's allowing all those teens and griefers into the grid addressed now? ;)

Regards,

-Flip

Wooooo! Except that we have to deal with the previous shit for another 2 days. I hope they fixed all the myriad 'expand all folders' bugs too.

Thanx for sharing this, Ano.

I'll be certain those who're responsible know! =^_^=

To be fair, there are still some noticeable inventory bugs--ones we're already aware of and which will be fixed ASAP too. For example, one which involves filter settings not saving across sessions, which is important if you want to set Recent Items to show the last 7 days of stuff received, but it keeps resetting to Since Logoff.

I spent a large portion of last week focused on inventory. It got particularly surreal at one point, because with my cold and all, staring at the screen, I started to almost hallucinate that bugs were pouring out of inventories and literally flaying avatars alive, like something out of a Stephen King novel. I saw a lot of crying, a lot of Resis in fear, even some who had barely started to express their fear when they were slain. It was pretty gory, and horrific. But, it made me more passionate about digging deep into the grave here.

I'm also going to mention I want to emphasize visibility of Second Life Preview whenever possible, not just because of testing, not just because of checking cool stuff in advance, but also because changes do take time to get used to. "New Feature Shock" is unpleasant and smoother transitions are healthier.

Also, in relation, anyone who's curious should read Frans Charming's SLOG entry commenting on Kelly Linden's details of the new Groups system coming up. Yes, 2-person minimum. Yes, 25 group maximum. And much, much more.

I'm sure anyone reading this who remembers 1.6's "lag o' doom" and "OH NOES STREAMING INVENTORY!" which hit me hard too... can understand. Now, it seems so small. But certainly, it was a hot-button issue then. Time's like that.

As for the building bugs mentioned, I made updates to the threads in question, and for anyone who's wondering about distorted tapered textures, I've replied with more info--including a video bug report, here:We can always do better and this has been quite an experience.

Thanx for your patience and thanx for being here with us in Second Life. :)

P.S. Speaking of bitching, if anyone wonders why I don't whine and moan more, it's because I've done a lot of that already earlier in my existence (as some know from my "FOOT SHADOWS" and "TELEHUB" rage, which was really serious to me). And like a candy bar wrapper without the treat--once used up, it belongs in the trash.

P.P.S. When we finally get "Group Teleport" or some kinda "Follow" mode for friends to socially teleport together, another of my long-in-the-tooth complaints will have been addressed. Seeing how many changes there's been this year, empirically, I'm hopeful!
