From: Cocoanut Cookie I'm not quitting. I'm as much of a masochist as the next SL resident. I nominate that for the SecondLife Motto.

Having read both the original announcement, and Robin's clarification in the Second Life Answers forum, I am taking a wait and see approach to this. Unless Linden Lab is going to be selling L$ the way that There sold Tbucks, I don't see a problem with the limited scenarios in which they have said they would sell L$. If they are removing most sources of L$ coming into the market, there is no way for them to introduce more L$ into the economy if necessary without offering some for sale. I don't see this as some terrible thing or a slap in the face of residents selling L$ - but again, this is only if this is something done rarely to help the economy. If they are regularly selling L$, that is a different story.

I have faith in Phil and his gang.
The only time I'd be happy to see Linden Lab sell L$ is if some money mad monster came along and held the L$ at ransom. Is that possible? Is it possible for somebody to buy up all the L$ and then control the market? Assuming there was an end to stipends, of course.
If so, then LL having the option to sell L$ will prevent the monster from even attempting to gobble up all our L$.
Am I talking bollox? Should I just go to bed?

Pol Tabla is a universal constant of rational thought.
And, additionally - always ask yourself, "What would Pol Tabla Do?"
Obviously, Linden Lab didn't take this sage advice. For shame!

Obviously, Linden Lab didn't take this sage advice. For shame! Maxx forgot to preface this by declaring it a "Newbie Tip." Just an oversight, I'm sure.
