I never met Starax in game, never acknowledged his funny posts or insightful posts on the forums, but he'll be missed. I was gonna show a friend yesterday where I got this AVI and tp her there and sure enough his store was gone. This guy made content. Really nice stuff, was creative and humerous and it all had that "polish" some things just lack.

I'll value his creations as long as I play this game and hope him the best wherever life takes him.

Aww, I'm sad to hear Starax is gone.

I had only talked to him once, to tease him that the wand contained 'everything but the kitchen sink.' He teased back, saying he thought women wanted to get away from the kitchen sink.

I really enjoy my wand and consider it my prize possession in SL, equal in value to to my photo album. I pull it out to call up a thunderstorm now and again because my Lakota name means something like 'coming storm.' I call up a dragon or an eagle for a ride sometimes, or summon buffalo to stampede close friends

What I'll really, really miss however, is Starax's posts on this forum. He had such a great sense of humor, evident here and in his wand creations. I'll miss that the most.

I am grieved to know he's gone as well. I wouldn't be suprised if the downhill slide drove him off either. Regardless, we will miss you old friend. The loss of your art is one of the saddest in SL's history.

Perhaps I shouldn't say this, but if you go to GoogleVideo, there's one on there about an hour long from back in March or May (I forget which) w/ folks from Linden talking to folks from Google. In that they mention that they were attempting to hire Starax. So let us hope for a better possibility than him just quitting the community.

No, that was Francis Chung of the Seburo fame.

I think his departure stems from the fact that his wands were rezzing his object with full permissions (/139/30/123316/1.html). In the thread, the Lindens never posted a followup. I believe they followed up with him in private with an answer he didn't want to hear (nor any content creator would), and he finally said, "You know what? Fuck this place."

I followed up on this with Lindens as well as others for my own reasons not long after he posted it. Luckily it isn't serious. It only affects objects that you created. This probably wasn't his reason.

Since he doesn't exist anymore, I won't be violating any TOS by revealing my theory:
Starax is Nick Rhodes.
