It's not me if that's what you're thinking. I'm way better looking than Starax. Just FYI. I believe this is a standard admission by way of denial. ![]() _____________________

I just did! Nobody ever listens to me! Read a few posts back ![]() Taking a stab in the dark here (no pun intended) but with his profile showing pics of the Sun (light waves) and I swear if you stare at the one on his profile first page it looks like it is moving away, could Light Waves be the Starax we are looking for? probably not....but I am happy I got my wand Will miss seeing new creations by him ![]() _____________________

Ah I did not know that, handy to know.. Do you remember when he made that island place where when you went there you were tiny he made everything gianormous! and you could crawl inot the drawers, andup inside the giant sofa was a whole other world? Amazing stuff! Oh I remember that!! I didn't realize that he was the one who built that! I have many good memories of evenings spent there with friends ... it was sooo much fun and one of my all time favorite things I have ever seen in SL! A friend showed me her wand when they first came out. There we were one evening in nothing but an open field just laughing hysterically at everything it could do. I hope Starax (or his new alt) knows how much enjoyment and fun he has brought to people all throughout SL! I do really wish I had gotten a wand when I had the chance ![]() |

I'll laugh if someone named Starax Linden posts in the thread ![]() As long as he keeps being his self. Brings back his store and helps out the same way as he usually does. Last thing we need is to lose a contributing member of SL to shut themselves out of the place and work behind a bunch of codes._____________________

When I first joined SL, I became acquainted with a wonderful person named Dane Zander. He took me and my new friend Richard Noonan to an empty sim (Richard introduced me to Dane) and showed us the wonderful Starax Wand. It was the most amazing moment ever in my SL existence. Well, it was many blissful, joyful moments. It was pure, care-free, innocent happiness. Richard often reminds me of that wonderful first day in SL, and I often think of that, and visit Dane's own beautiful Lost Gardens of Apollo.
There are other skilled and talented creators in SL, but there is only one Starax. I'm grateful that I did buy one of his creations. Starax's "Fountain Girl" now has a prominent place in my front garden. Thank you Dane and Richard, for showing me SL at its best, and Starax, thank you for the joy and wonder you've given so many of us. |

I wrote his email address on his profile under Notes, however, I can't seem to find his profile anymore. =/
I have a few sculptures from Starax that I cherish. Just think, if LL loses them they are gone forever. I'd love to see a Starax Linden! or Starax anything for that matter. _____________________

![]() i droped a piece of it on the floor and edited it and sure enough his name was on it. ^.^ After reading his profile... [2nd life tab] 1group: Magic Wand Society Profile Decsription: Nice weather out! [Classified Tab] Starax's Store: Closed And thats about all thats there. To the person who's wand had (nobody) as the creator:
I think that's common with all object if they are attached when you edit them. Drop it on the ground and edit it to see who the owner is. _____________________

In 3 years of SL, I can only think of 3 residents who seemed to pick up on content creation in SL very quickly. I recall flying over Morris a couple of years ago and seeing the most interesting (and just plain huge) sculptures. Really incredible stuff, but more incredible because a noob was the creator.
I've never owned anything Starax created. One day, a stray gull apeared on my land. It was one of Starax's creations. I usually return stray items, but in this case, I left it there. It remained there for months until I had to return it so I could do a land swap with a neighbor. I still miss that gull. |

Some of my happiest days as a n00b were spent in Backstage/Nowall. Later on, I visited the place again just before the islands vanished, and met Starax himself. I'd inquired about the renovation to the place (it more closely resembled a walled-in meadow by then), then wandered around a bit. I wish I had one of the Fetus Trees I found there.
![]() Later on, I joined the smallish club of Wand owners thanks to the generosity of a friend who wanted wand-owning to be a less singular experience. Through all the various updates to the wand, I continued to be impressed by the stuff Starax turned out (I only wished I could've set some things out permanently). But now? No more, I guess. Others of his caliber will almost certainly come and go. It won't be exactly the same, but why should it? If it were, then the poor artists would find themselves forever compared to Starax, and that's not good. I guess what I’m trying to say is.. If he's truly gone, then let us have an Irish-style wake for him. Y'know, everyone get completely 'faced and share stories of dubious truth about the person in question. |

Hey! I knew that goon Starax. Before he left, he told me that he was leaving because it was time to move on. He hasn't been banned and he isn't annoyed with Linden Lab or anything like that. He just said that it was time to move on and that he was leaving for many reasons. Good riddance I say! ![]() Have a good 3rd life! Wherever it takes you, however far away it leads..we remember and smile! Thanks for the memories! _____________________

I'm a big fan of Starax's sculptures. His shop is closed for awhile. I was looking for him w/ search/find and can't find him. I was wondering if anyone knows if he changed avatars. I'd like to be able to contact him so that I can pick up more of his work in the future. tia ![]() He posted to the SANDBOX yesterday at 6:12am, so he can't have gone far. _____________________

Starax's Magic
08-09-2006 11:28
The loss of Starax's magic is an extremely sad loss to me I don’t mean the “Magic Wand”, I mean HIS magic. He not only created the famous and unbelievable “Magic Wand” but also so many other astounding and brilliant pieces of work.
As a great and talented artist, he brought my "mind's eye" and my RL heart feelings into SL via his magnificent creations, like, “Coming out”, “Sand in your face” and who can forget “Touching” or “Shattered”. The first time I saw and met him, he was displaying some pieces in a sandbox but it was not he who spoke to me, but these statues, the small details, his passion for his work. I own many of his pieces and am extremely upset I will not able to buy the rest of them. Most people build 'buildings' and inanimate, blah objects. But even his inanimate objects were 'alive'. His pieces are “WOW” inspiring and they are captivating… but… only those who understand art in an intimate level can truly appreciate his vision and how truly spectacular he is. **** Starax, I know you are reading this, please, return to us… There are many of us who would like to see you back. The loss of your art is truly, truly a sad and irreplaceable loss. Everything I told you about your brilliance at that sandbox, long ago, is still true, every word, wow, ohhh and aaahhh remains true. Please, do not deny the rest of us the beauty of your talent. And, btw, Gene and I are and will always remain in awe of your incomparable talent. Ok, now I’m off for a good cry because this loss is very heartfelt, in my case. |

I wish i bought a lot of his stuff a few days ago when i was in his store "ohing and ahing", if only i had known then what i know now.
Having sad that, i hope that Starax left his SL cause something better came along which makes him happy. It would have been less shocking if he had announced it but maybe he had good reasons. Starax, if you ever read this i would like to ask you this. Despite the fact noone can built what u built, would it be possible for you to "give" some of your work to a friend or someone you trust enough so that this person can continue to sell it to others so they can see your work aswell? As you can see many people really like your stuff and it would be great if they could keep buying it despite the fact you arent there anymore. |

potential find
08-09-2006 16:10
Hello, all. Perhaps I shouldn't say this, but if you go to GoogleVideo, there's one on there about an hour long from back in March or May (I forget which) w/ folks from Linden talking to folks from Google. In that they mention that they were attempting to hire Starax. So let us hope for a better possibility than him just quitting the community.
