I cannot afford a credit card I will never use and get punished for not using(my aunt learned that fact the hard way), I cannot afford a cell-phone, and I will not pay for something I will never use, if you cannot script, ask a friend.

If you want to punish members of the lower class for not being stupid enough to use a cell-phone/credit card on their low incomes then shut the hell up and leave me alone.

Second Life is not meant to be run on dial up, it is basically unusable and lags everyone else around you to hell and back because dial up causes a huge drain on sim resources.

It's called a debit card. It does nothing to your credit. It requires $5 to keep it open, and that five dollars will stay there, as you don't have to pay a dime to be verified. I'm sure they have them in all 50 states. Unsure about elsewhere....

Often we see the Lindens say that if caught doing things that will disrupt a sim, bring it down, harm the grid, etc etc etc, they will disclose your information to the authorities. How can they do this on "unverified, or no information" accounts? Just wondering if this is a hollow threat to those accounts..and if so, why o why would the Lindens shoot themselves in the foot this way ??

They say they can identify and ban people by their computer info. Most websites you go to are able to pick up a sort of serial number from your computer and "know" you each time you go back.

Takes 30 mins and a low initial deposit to get a checking account...and as others have pointed out, all but the most backward one-branch mom-n-pop local banks have check cards. The only persons *I* see here being A**holes are of the unverified variety demanding the rest of us tolerate griefers just so they don't have to lift a finger to become verified.

And that ain't happening, kiddo. I joined when you got a 7-day trial (or was it 14, so long ago I forget) and then you paid the one-time fee / went premium / or you left...you clicked a mouse and entered a couple lines of text and got an insta-account. Time to step up to the plate if you want to be treated like a verified. Though with the foul mouth and attitude, I sincerely doubt you will.

Used to work for a company that did pager and cell-phone refurb and resale. A lot of people in certain industries still use pagers. We sold a lot of the rugged ones to fire departments, doctors (apparently they do not interfere with equipment like cell phone can), and construction people (a pager will take a drop or a hit that will ruin your cell phone in an instant and keep right on going). We also exported a lot of them (and old cell phones) to South America.

Yeah, nearly dead market, but there are a few specialized users out there. Oh yeah, I forgot the people too cheap to pay for the cell-phone accounts.

well speaking as a neighbor of teh AN i could not dissagree more! they are rude, disrespectful,i have been threatened, and i have to go thru the land at least 2 times a week to return or delete trash from some careless AN member..i have had a ICBM sitting on our land as well as heaps of other crap! and their response?..well we cannot be held responsible for where our bullets go! most of their officers are already banned from our land and as a new peice of trash is found each person goes on the builds are well done and impressive in their own way but their insistance that everyone enjoy their roleplay is for the birds!
Also, i find it interesting that considering that i have been told over and over again they are here for my protection and to make SL a better place...where were they as a group for RFL? or other fund raisers? i admit i was very dissapointed that LL allowed them to be set up at teh 3rd birthday bash giving credibility to what in my opinion is a griefer group
