From: Selador Cellardoor What do you think corruption is? Corruption would be an ongoing pattern of abuse of power. This is more just them testing the limits of what their powers are. An exception to this, as I have said elsewhere, would be what was done to Cocoanut's thread with the star rating. It may seem minor, but it is a direct sign of lack of respect. If Jeska, whose responsibility all of this is ultimately, does not do something to clearly rectify that situation -which includes removing the ResMods involved, then clearly her posts about the point of this program are just lip service.

i just wanted to make a quick comment on the original post..
i believe it should not be implicit to all "closed-thread" links that they necessitate the closing of a thread. infraction should be relevant to intent. perhaps a short and easy set of guidelines? like these examples:
if, "why did this thread get closed? <provided link>", then close thread.
if, "this new thread is augemented by this one. <provided link>", then thread remains open.

From: StoneSelf Karuna so how about clarifying that in the guidelines? while i'm at it... is one of the problems with the guidelines... they don't keep up with clarifications and decisions that have been made in the forums. some policy statement will be made at the closing of a thread or some other action or other response... but it rarely gets put in one place so people can look it up.

well..

From: StoneSelf Karuna so how about clarifying that in the guidelines? simply because that was my own opinion and not something that i know of to have been officiated. i was simply offering a possible solution to the guidelines for such posts. however, i should post my idea to the ResMod forums. i was just putting it out there for community discussion and if it seemed like a good way to judge adherence to the rule against reposting.

good question
02-04-2006 10:47
ideally, it should be the wording of a post that defines if it's of personal opinion or if it's relating LL policy.
for example, in the post i made that is in question, i used descriptors such as "i believe" and "i think" and "should". these infer that i'm speaking from an unofficial point of view and expressing my own opinions.
were it LL policy, then i would have used such expressions as "it's policy" or "i am aware of such and such a standard", etc..
if at any time it is not clear through initial communication, please do as has been done here and ask for further clarification. eventually, a better dialogue will ingrain itself into our speech patterns and better clarity will be acheived.

he said ... "I believe"
c'mon there are going to be enough big issues that will need to be discussed regarding resmod decisions let's don't get so picky that we defeat ourselves.
Personally, I do think IT IS common sense knowing that if a thread is locked or closed that you should not link to that particular thread with the purpose of continuing the discussion. (Because you are referring to a thread in total)
Posting quotes from that closed thread (as split off for a new topic) ... that should be allowed I think. I suppose you could link to a single post if needed but why not just quote to save us from having to click over?
