A great idea, and one that hasn't been discussed on the forums yet. Paid 1,000 for an orbiter? HOPE YA GOT ANOTHER 1,000 PAL!

It works out even better if you combine 1) + 2) together. Paid L$1000 for that orbiter? Hope you got another L$1000 to buy another! Oh wait, thats right.. L$1000 Fine. Oh well looks like you're SOL. Looks like you've put yourself in a negative balance for a while too, have fun camping for another week and a half for another orbiter if its even worth it anymore. :D

And then theres the LAGG (Landowner's Anti Greifer Gun) (which is only in my imagination until land options become script accessible :( )

1) Fire gun @ lamer
2) Lamer is frozen, (via land tools), and something stupid proceeds to happen to them (Think prim dresses, strange poses, compromising positions, etc.)
3) Parcel is set to damage enabled for a split second..
4) Bullet then kill said lamer instantly
5) Returns parcel to safe mode
6) And add's lamer's name to banlist

This would be standard equipment given to all landowners :)

Meh, there are plenty of tools that mock them as it were. Personally I like my friend's idea about "Shunned Mode" though I tweaked the idea a little bit since last we talked. Instead of just No Fly, No Script, and Grid Mute we'll have No Script, No Build, Grid Mute, AR feature disabled, and Red name tag to point out they're convicted griefer for the next 24 hours they spend. Not so fun when you're a helpless victim with a bullseye on your forehead now is it?

Great questions, Angelique. From reading the chat transcript over on the Community page, it sounds like they're going to allow disabling llPush at a distance, leaving it enabled at close range. This would answer the problem of poseballs which use a small push to get you off the furniture when you stand up. And, disabling distance push would be optional by parcel - always a good thing.

I'm awaiting the 1.11 update eagerly - the push changes and the return of the important parts of auto-AR will make things a little easier again.

This is a great idea, a hud that you can point and click AR's with screen shots.

I believe in disabling the use of scripted objects as a punishment. You get banned for 14 days and can't use scripted objects for another 30 days, Ouch!

A scarlet letter perhaps, "PROBATION" tagged over your head for a month would be funny.

I would like to see a TP Home list for land owners, Not just banned but auto TP home.

For extra points, let's make that 14/30 days of actual logged in non AFK game time.

Muahahaha!

We could make a large sign that say "I am a griefer!" and name it something like "Banana Gun" when the griefer equips it, their in for a suprise. :)

I have an orbiter (60,000 meters). I set it to auto mode. If I am attacked, it responds.

There are mainland RP areas (similar to Gor) where they tell you you are subject to capture (TOS violation), but they are allowed because it is a 'designated' area.

My land is a designated Retaliation area. My RP, my SL, is to be a vigilante.

A terrorist spent 30+ minutes shooting me AND a Linden (from online help) a week ago. Yesterday I saw the same terrorist online (sigh).

These undocumented aliens should be allowed only on certain sims. (Linden Village for instance) They could be issued passes when accompanied by a premium member, that takes full responsibility for the undocumented's actions.

"Premium" members should have access to "Premium Content". There is no reason the Push and other LSL abused script functions couldn't be removed from access to the undocumented.

Land bans don't work. I have these idiots banned, scripts and building turned off and there are still items that they launch against me. Items that actually kill me even though I don't have a damage (health) enabled on my land.

I can't sell my land because they shoot all people that come to see it. I had a buyer at L$30,000, but she pulled out after being shot 6 times. I couldn't tell her that she just needs to report it, because reports don't get rid of these miscreants. Now I can't sell my land for L$20,000. I have lost 1/3 of my land value to these asses.

No LL wants to put in PvP. So when I get shot and orbit the miscreant, he can report me. Keep PvP away from the undocumented, and keep them on designated sims.

Oh, BTW. When you trap someone it is your trap so you can edit it. It's fun to slowly scrunch a griefer into the ground and then a further 10-20 meters underground.

Better yet, a watermelon gun, that when fired, summons me to eat the watermelons and conk the greefer kin on the head with the empty rind. *thump*

I have a feeling sooner or later, someone's going to get creative with this and make a Jackass-style video. "Griefers in the wild".

Torley, If I build you a house, will you come live on my beach?

I had a new idea for this to.

How about a TP launcher that attaches a 3 meter long piece of TP the would be griefers left heal and can not be removed.

Medieval Law for Griefers
07-10-2006 08:27
Hmmm. Another revenge idea percolating:

Medieval law required that those miscreants caught in flagranto delictae were put in stocks and left on display for whatever time - subject to the ridicule and abuse of the general populace.

Now work with me here - a simple neutralizer with warning system - along the lines of the Magrathean warning system, polite but to the point - "I'm sorry you are attacking people here please stop/ I'm sorry you are not stopping, you will be pacified/ Please enjoy your pacification". The system then simply neutralizes the offending avatar (green blob ooze would be fun!), all push and projectile and TP functions stop working for them and they remain frozen in a convenient place until they log out. They get a snap shot taken and automatically posted with their name and image highlighted. The system allows others to abuse the avatar and/or the image to their heart's content. All in good fun, instead of antigriefing weapons, the offenders are effectively disarmed and help up for public ridicule - always fun for the public - and life goes on relatively peacefully.

Make it so only landholding premium members can install and use the system. I mean let's have some fun with this! Turn an annoyance into a source of entertainment for ourselves!

Pax!
