Ok, how much more of a depiction of pornography does it have to be than SL??
If you are in an underage av and having sex, you are guilty of a crime just as if you were distributing hardcore child pornography (i personally do not agree that cartoons are the same as rl photos, but until that part of law is struck down...)

Well thats where it is sketchy. The basic law is about ACTUAL minors. Pretending to be one is not illegal.

The "extra" part tacked on that got passed about drawings and cartoons and the like DEPICTING possible underage characters (since a fictional character technically has no RL age) could be used to fight the arguement about Ageplay in SL.

I'm sure if able they'd pass a law about actual RL ageplay being illegal too because, quite frankly, there is a portion of the US that seems to want to dictate what consenting adults can do on their own time.

I run an adult fiction uncensored website, if its fiction its allowed, to me and this is my personal belief, the really sick people are not those who explore there fantasies in safe enviroments using toons and fictional situations = roleplay

It is those who through society and or self that hide those desires away, because the human mind always finds a way to express its needs and dark desires.

simple example of the priests who are taught to ignore there desires and needs and darkness, it comes out later and young boys get abused.

Me I am a healthy 35 year old, I have explored all of my desires in a safe way and no one ever got hurt, I have ethics and boundries in real life but in roleplay its the what if..

And please do not group me with the minority the SMALL minority who can not see the difference between real life and fantasy, educate them, treat them, do not confine me.

Hmm, at the risk of being flamed and bashed, I have to say that I actually agree with the original poster here. In my opinion, any ageplay in a sexual matter is morally wrong when it involves a child (even fictional), and I hope the laws are toughened and it's eventually banned in this game There, I said it. The idea of an adult wanting to watch his avatar do things to a kiddie-looking avatar disgusts me, and it is the only thing I cannot stand about this game. My husband and I couldn't believe our eyes when we saw children avatars in mature areas at first, since we didn't even consider that an adult would want to play an 18 and over age-range game in an area riddled with sex objects as a small child. People playing the game as an animal, robot, vampire, or giant did not seem strange to us, even if all those "creatures" were being sexual, but playing as an adult engaged in sex in the body of a child or an adult engaged with a child struck a really sour note with both my husband and I to say the least

I hope the above statements didn't offend anyone who plays the game as a child avatar, and does not participate in sexual behavior in child form.

I just thought I would add a little something to this post as a newbie, and tell you guys how shocked I was at first when I realized that some people don't think playing the game as or with a child in a sexual manner is a big deal or morally wrong. I do realize people hold different opinions, and beliefs from my own, but I should think that images of adults victimizing children should disturb everyone.

Correct me if i am Wrong here, Age Play in RL involves two (or more) Adults, where adults dress as children to Roleplay scenes of adult sex with Children.
This is my Understanding of it.
I have a Rather strong ethical streak where it concerns Children being exposed to, or Involved in sexual situations. On the surface, this doesn't seem to fall Into that Catagory, However, we are focusing on the age of the "Child" in Age play, where the REAL concern rests with the one playing the adult. This form of play, whether In RL, or On Line with an adult Av in childs clothing, or an adult Typist in a child Av seems to me to be Catering to the Darker instincts of a (Potential?) pedophile. It isn't the one wanting to behave as a child who worrys me as much as the one who is turned on by the idea of having sex with a child.
I haven't been in on this topic before because My On Line Lover is a small woman in RL, and portrays herself as such On Line. Many times she has been Mistaken for a child Av, where this thought never occurred either to her or Myself. After someone commented on it, we chose together to have her Increase her hight to a "Comfortabl Level" for others viewing our relationship. I'm Ambivilant about Classifying people based upon appearance, but the Actions of Age Play DO give me pause.

I'm not saying it's 100% wrong, I don't have all the facts, But it Does worry me.

I don't think I'll ever understand the mentality of those that think that people who do age play sex are pedophiles, even if there are no real children involved. But people who have furry sex aren't commiting acts of bestiality.

SL is full of creepy and "morally" wrong kinks, but the thing is that it's all pretend. I would rather have Gors, Furries, Age Players, and what not to have their itch scratched in SL rather then in real life. These people aren't really having sex with their personal slaves, or sex with animals, or even sex with children. It's all fake, thus doing no harm to you.

You may think it's morally wrong, but most of the alternatives would be ALOT worse.
