I'm happy you guys sorted this out as well. I rented out the land beside the Angry Ant, and as far as I was concerned it's use fell within the SL TOS. I also have had a lot of grief from some Angry Ant members.

From: Heart Wishbringer I went over to the Angry Ant today to have a look at that wall... and actually, I think in a sense it does the Angry Ant a favor.. because it hides from Angry Ant the mix and match stuff on the other side that looks sorta like I don't know what, a castle, an unfinished boat, and an advertisement, among other little odd things placed out here and there. So perhaps this guy thought the club was ugly.. rofl, well obviously the Angry Ant is a "club", and looks like a club, and was there first, so he purchased land next door and built a wall and made a joke by calling the area beyond the wall the ant farm, so that you no longer can see the enterance to the club, except to walk through his property under the opening in that wall. It's really silly to think though that the wall did an injustice.. I mean, look at these photos, the top two are the angry ant, the bottom two the stuff on the other side... that stuff looks kinda messy and well.. an eye sore because it's just a jumble of stuff. At least they hid their stuff from the eyes of the people at Angry Ant. I wish the Lindens would sort this out, by zoning, if they had commercial areas and residential areas this would never happen. Anyways it was kind of rude in a sense, but I'm thankful the wall is there, so when I am at the Angry Ant, I don't have to see the adverts, and the unfinished boat and the other things over there. Gee I wonder why an amusement park UNDER CONSTRUCTION would look a bit messy? *thinks REAL hard for a possible reason* Great you like the club, big deal. Now try being a little tollerant of other people's builds UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

Hmm I sure hope your not the one that owns the store I think you are? You have just lost a customer. Should learn to keep your mouth shut and enjoy the game insted of cutting down others property they spend hundreds of dollars a month for.
Ill say this/If she wanted to put nothing but a huge pile of trash in the middle of her land she is able to do this/Why? Because she pays the money for that land not you or not anyone else at that matter.
If you dont like the things being built there on the other side of the club then simply dont go there.
Your shoes what? 400 and 500L for a pair of those is just plain stupid so if you want to cut down peoples things I would gladly join in this battle with you and your ugly shoes! What now?
I dont get in these forums unless there is a good reason and your responce to my best friends land was a very good reason!

Hi Sarah, You are welcome. To the others who are trying to get my goat by being ugly in the forums and trying to start a big drama over here, grow up, if you can't understand the meaning of my post, and my intentions and you want to start a little fight, then you can fight with yourselves. As far as an amusement park being under construction, I figured as much. But in any case I am not the owner of the land where Hearts Desire is, and I am not the creator of the shoes, so you just bashed someone else, How nice, You just did to someone else what you accused me of doing. I'm sure Joe will appreciate it. As for myself personally I am not going to take it personal, nor should Joe, he does wonderful work, no matter what you say I don't count your opinion as anything important, and if we lose a customer who acts like a drama queen, all the better for us. We aren't into drama. Thank you Have a nice life.

True, the wall does hide their stuff from us, but it also hides the club from people trying to fly in so it really does us no favours. The fact that SL hasn't bothered to resolve this yet suggests that the "community standards" are mere recommendations with no real substance to them. In what kind of community is it acceptable to install a viewing platform out of malice for the purpose of spying on and mocking people and their work? We have logs in which it's stated that the whole thing was set up in retribution, purely to harass us, sufficient evidence to attract some kind an investigation you would assume. Should we even bother to file reports in the future?
We do appreciate the messages of the support that have been displayed here and naturally our first and foremost concern is to maintain a safe and friendly environment for our guests, meaning one where they don't have to worry about being observed from behind darkened windows, or being viewed through 'telescopes' while people laugh at them and put up "subtitles" (which to be fair could be mildly amusing under different circumstances). I had hoped that Ham might appreciate this, since it so clearly does contradict the ethics of society, even a virtual one. His exact words to me when I first informed him about the existance of the "ant farm" were, "He had no plans to build anything beside the club until he suffered abuse from Your club members". Isn't that the very definition of retribution? How can it be considered anything other than malice? oy

Why did you not say any of this to him when you were standing right next to him on his land talking to him? Why bring it to the forum with only a portion of the story? That's odd, too. Yes he has plans to put up signs and telescopes... not that he's likely to get them done, as work has picked up for him. As for pointing any laughing at people... that is not the intention at all. No one is going to shoot anyone, bounce them with scripts, etc. The privacy issue is moot as the Angry Ant is open to the public. It's pretty odd, too, that the club's business seems to have picked up since all this drama unfolded.

Fair enough, there are a couple of questions I can answer and put on the record. The fact is that I was only made aware of this issue after it had been active for at least a day, simply because I was busy enjoying my real life which, fortunately, is not marred by such ridiculous and dare I say stressful situations. It was my responsibility, once I had been briefed, to uncover as much of the background information as I could which involved talking to the other party. I'm sure you can appreciate that had I approached him with a more confrontational attitude I would likely not have remained long enough to get the answers to the questions that I wanted to ask. My main duty at the time was to listen to the other side of the argument and to see if I could help to resolve the situation diplomatically. It's a role I've had to employ in the past, and with increasing frequency in the present. The impression that I got from the encounter was that he had little or no respect for our guests, and no regard for the work we've put into designing and building the club. This is demonstrated not just by the imitation of our designs and colour schemes, but the recent emergence of amusement park rides and amenities in the immediate vicinity. Most of our guests are already aware of our established notoriety in amusement park features, rides and unique attractions, an element which your friends appear to have set upon cloning. Please let me know if the latter is not connected to you, regardless, I am not the first person to feel insulted by these slights on our work.
As for the telescopes, in what capacity are you expecting them to be used? I am quite sure that this is not a matter of scientific research. There is no excusable defence for the monitoring of our club or its members with that degree of furtiveness. The club may be on publically accessible land, but that does not give anybody the right to monitor (spy on) us. There are plenty of real-world examples you can picture which support this point. Even in Second Life we have a right to at least a fundamental level of privacy, and it's my responsibility to ensure that our guests have that when they're on our land. I can appreciate that you're not planning to shoot people or use scripts against them, but there are other forms of abuse. I cannot imagine anybody designing such an elaborate system without deriving humour from it at the expense of others. You could try and explain it to me, but I'd prefer you just ask him to dismantle the platform.

I think I missed something when he and Sarah had already made amends and seem to be amicable on this subject then. You came over there after Sarah's post on here stating that as far as she was concerned the matter was over. Why do you post days later? I don't understand why a theme park built around your establishment is a slight. The theme is ants, no one is making fun of it at all, the colors used on the signs on the other land is to complement the Angry Ant, the build itself is made in such a way as to NOT CLASH with the club. What elements of the club have been imitated besides the obvious ANTS? If he had little or no respect for your patrons, do you really think the land would be open to any of them? There are no telescopes on that build, nor do I really think he is intending to really put any up. If he does, chances are it's going to give a photo of cartoon ants, that hasn't really been worked out due to his increased workload. He does like to talk when he has ideas. Doesn't mean they're gonna be implemented. I really don't understand how you think that looking into a club before either entering it or deciding not to enter it is "spying". I also know that top floor is far enough away that the only things to be heard up there are the random money balls, raffle balls, (all the things that are set to shout) and anyone shouting on the sim. I really don't see how that constitutes "spying," either, when you are looking at avs dance or walk around. If we were able to "hear" or read lips (total impossiblity), I can understand why you would think of that as spying. It just sounds boring to me to put something like that up just to look at avs dance - it's not like your club is a spinning sex club(and thank goodness it's not) - although there are some really cool looking avs that come over and hang out there.... but I digress. I think if you had told him your true reason for coming over before you posted here, I might not have reacted the way I did.. again, this is a public forum, you can air it out here for everyone else, but not go to the source???

Dimitrio,
You seemed happy enough to abuse your position by building your "theme park" on MY land , without permission. Only AFTER I asked you about it did you request permission to use MY land to promote the Angry Ant. And I notice that used used other neighbouring land to dump your stuff on as well.
Whether you like it or not, the current tenant has every right to build what he wants on the land he has rented from me. Having had some abuse, which I also had, he discussed the matter with his neighbour and an amicable agreement was reached.
Time for you to leave it out. I havn't noticed much of a drop in guests in the Angry Ant because of it. In fact, the numbers seem to have gone up.

I can't believe

I can't believe this is still continued in forum posts. Like I said I have worked this out with Dook a long time ago and to be honest havent wasted any thought on it until I found all the continued posts today. I appologize for any incovenience or grief that this caused anyone. But the bottom is still that me, The owner of The Angry Ant, and Dook the owner of the ant farm have sorted this out, so its DONE. DONE!!!!
P.S. Hearts Desire items and shoes are still the best in sl and if you look at the time and detail involved you'll see they are worth every cent. Theres a reason you see them walking all over sl!
