Hey Max, how about giving out a script to the pseudo code effect of:

CODE
string cur_sim;

llSetTimerEvent(300);

timer()
{
if(cur_sim!=llGetSimulatorName())
{
cur_sim = llGetSimulatorName();
send_data_through_email_to_Max();
}
}

Then a bunch of us could put it in our attachments - I'm looking at you, gridverse explorer Torley! - and gather a lot of data, while only pinging the server we're currently in once every five minutes. I believe Ushu is write that the data will change after each grid boot, so having a networked data collection force might be helpful.

Regards,

-Flip

Well, I have one version that pings every on_rez, so whenever you teep into a spot, it pings. But I thought people like Pushing A Button for that I did it myself feel :)
Also it feels like cheating now that I will make a leaderboard.
So, if any Grid-Hoppers would like the Auto-Version, let me know, and i will pass you a copy.

If you'll toss it to me I'll add it to my PWN3RHUD9000.
Or... I'll just add it to something I always have on. like my ProxEye

Hey Burke - Done!

I passed you a modded one that works silently, so you won't get bugged whenever you teep around.
thanks

Max, send me the code as well? I'm serving a few hundred new vehicles a week; I can provide these as opt-in public services.

edit: schwiggety schwag! Luo's got its own server! I wonder if that is good that it isn't sharing or bad that it might be on an older machine only capable of handling one sim...?

Hey Kage - Sounds cool. Luo might also just not have it's neighbour found yet :)
I doubt I will ever have 100% coverage, but every bit helps.

Thanks to Nexus Nash's suggestion, I have added Server Class info to your results.
This means, you know know what type of server you are on (Class 2 /3 / 4) which tells you how many neighbours you should have on the Server. (ie: on a Class 2, a sim should be all by its lonesome).

Update
04-15-2006 10:45
Hi everyone.
Just to let you know there's an update, the Registrator-Tron now fires whenever you change sims, so you don't have to touch it anymore.
Also, the site now has a leaderboard of who has contributed the most sims. Enjoy.

This leaves open the chance for a fun game...

1: start on a sim.
2: find its neighbours, teleport to one of the neighbours.
3: repeat step 2 until you reach the first sim.
4: record the number of steps and the names of the sims it took.

Six degrees of seperation? How many sims of seperation for SL?

Musuko.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket or anything, but does this information have any real value other they just being neat to know?
