Could you go to Caledon II, and put away the pieces on the chessboard? It's right by the telehub, and there's a button you press to do it, should be fairly obvious.
In return I will write you a limerick.

Good morning Serra
![]() Couple things happened, Ordinal. Someone rezzed some stuff at the telehub (since taken care of) and my secret Caledon National Railroad beta was there. Until a few seconds ago (it is now shut off), you could rez the train, then if you knew what to click it would go hurtling down the track. Someone had discovered this and rezzed a number of trains all in one spot, but didn't know how to send them down the line. _____________________

Wouldn't it be great if we could get IM's to our friends who are online when we are not? It is possible to send an IM to someone in world using e-mail. Any e-mal sent to <agent uuid>@im.secondlife.com will be received by the intended recipient as an IM. The key (pardon the pun) is to know the UUID Of the person you wish to IM through e-mail. - Sam _____________________

Something I built a while ago to translate Emails to Instant Messages, but never really used.... I desperately need something like that but don't have the inclination to spend the 20 minutes needed to code it. I'll buy source from you! LOL! |

I just tried and I got a autoreturned email saying the address was invalid, even tho the key was fresh and confirmed. Oh well. Ordinal if you want to sell your "Aetherial Telephone" I'd be interested. _____________________

libSL developers are working on many a chat program, without having to muck about with email.
But, nothing user consumable yet. Stay tuned._____________________

It works IF the person in-world starts the conversation. The email address then remains live for about 24 hours, I think. You can't initiate from the outside... It's a method of controling spam. Yes, I did some addittional testing and it seems that SL assigns an arbitrary key when e-mailing the IM message to one's mailbox. I can understand the need to control spam, but it's shame that it doesn't work with an AV key. I'll have to work on a script later today that will allow it. - Sam _____________________

The key (pardon the pun) is to know the UUID Of the person you wish to IM through e-mail. - Sam I thought this was true once, and even posted it, but I was wrong. What works is <session_uuid>@im.secondlife.com, where <session_uuid> is a key for a particular log-in session. If you send an IM to someone, and stay logged in, and the recipient gets your IM forwarded his/her email address, the return address will contain the session uuid and the recipeient can reply to it in the usual manner and you will get the reply as an IM. But only if you remain logged on. If you log off and log back on, you get a different session uuid and any reply to IMs sent in earlier sessions will end up in bit heaven. |

Wouldn't it be great if we could get IM's to our friends who are online when we are not? i'm able to do this with no problem. not sure if its a bug or anything but i've been using it for a while now with no problems. --edit-- ok try this... if your freinds have a message ball setup, send the message to that uuid. it will bouce it to them inworld, or if they are out of world email it to them. _____________________

Rez an object, place this script in it, it will check for new e-mail once every 30 seconds and IM you with the message.
To have someone send you a message, have them mail it to <yourkey>@lsl.secondlife.com CODE // Receive e-mails from people off-world - Sam _____________________
