Actually, I have to think the blotter almost has to be incomplete as I *know* there was a banning based on bombings in a sim area not listed in the last two days.

i filed 2 abuse reports late on thurs june 29.

griefer c4 bombed a group of us in class, i and others were shot a few sims away, griefer repeatedly set off bombs, caged and shot us, made some rude comments, and did not leave or stop until a linden came, i think.

griefer's probable alt returned to grief us in class and throw some of us into cages repeatedly.


note: i asked everyone to file abuse reports, probably between 4-10 reports were filed for each incident.

Reported today:

An object called VGI Money Ball was given to me. It was trying constantly to take my money after rez. I suspected something like this, so I did not give it permission to take money. Reported with details, screenshot of object, script errors (permission error) and creator/name of the person that gave it.

[name withheld] - in the New Citizens group, at 2:40 AM, SLT , June 30, [name withheld], a live help member, offered to pay $50 lindens to people who made requests to live help asking to know how to find out the names of people who abused them with scripts

This is a completely inappropriate way to make a point, causing Live Help members and Linden staff members to respond to requests that were made solely because [name withheld] paid them to.

The goal is to make the Linden staff members hear the request more than they would by genuine Live Help requests not made for money, to artificially inflate the apparent importance of the need for this information, in order to advance [name withheld]'s goals about PvP status.

<N00b, rezday 6/23/06, No Payment Info Given> was harassing a friend in Grace, begging for an av and then money.

Friend refused, and n00b caged her.

I showed up, drew my weapon after I was caged (did NOT fire), and he retreated.

Dumbfuck came back, and caged the BOTH of us (lucky shot) with one designed to bounce us around.

Edit: Tried to use AR feature the first time and crashed.


Figures... one of those easy griefer alts.

I have only been part of SL for three weeks: the first week I spent on Help Island learning the ropes, and the last two I've been on the Mainland. Week One on the Mainland--lovely. This last week--I've personally filed 5 ARs.

Here's my report:

Mon, June 26, Yadnni's Junkyard: I was caged and vaulted across the grid by an individual. That person then put me inside a drum when I returned and only released me when I threatened to file an AR.

Tues, June 27, TeaZers U: During a class, an individual caged me and caged the instructor, then set the instructor on fire. The person did not respond to IMs asking for the removal of the cage. I had to leave SL and return, and missed the rest of the class.

Wed June 28, Kuula: During a period of about 30 minutes, those in the New Citizens Plaza were hit with vehicles and thrown about, and then repeatedly carpet-bombed. Obviously, due to the location, there were many new people about and some were quite upset.

Thurs, June 29, ASL: During the 11 pm class, an individual flew in with a gun and began shooting people, then took off, came back and placed bombs, and then flew off again and began carpet-bombing the class area. This went on for more than 15 minutes CONTINUOUSLY, during which we all sat on the ground to avoid being vaulted (some were vaulted initially, myself included). Someone finally got hold of Dee Linden. We then attempted to resume class, the instructor suggesting that we all rez cubes and sit on them in case of another attack. About 15 minutes later, a naked person ported in with a gun, began harrassing students, and the attacks started again. We finally finished the class at about 12:25, and then all sat again as someone was taking random shots at students.

My biggest concern...and the one that I believe should be LL's as well...is that these idiots are targeting places where there are likely to be high concentrations of new users and users who are obviously interested in being constructive and productive citizens. What do you think the results of this will be???

When the whole account status thing started a few days ago, I followed some of the threads here and made the decision to go and provide payment information, although I am a non-paying user. I have had every intention of eventually becoming a paying user, but honestly, at this point, I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon.

I have other ideas about this whole matter, but I'll save them for another post.

No, sadly Enabrans crusade is motivated because his post was trolling and spamming and a waste of space with the original huge graphic and i stated as such. And everyone knows greifing alt accounts just HAVE to start ranting crusades =-) On topic:

New account on Help Island with repeated nudity after being asked to get dressed. Weapons use with library popgun as additional offense after explaining PG standards. Pummeled Data Linden with dozens of paint rounds when Data came to try to calm the situation. Account proceeded to admit they were underage and asked if we cared.

This last one should have been in the police blotter. Its not. Nothing happens.

Once again Torley spreads a bunch of meanly words around, actions are what matter not a lot of pretty words in an attempt to make people stop talking about problems that LL won't deal with.

Torley Linden is one of those things that are good in SL. Don't think otherwise! Cause the spoon does exist right next to the watermelon.

Was shopping at Skin Doctors and was shot by the other person in the shop. Went flying far away and as soon as I landed I filed a AR on the person. I let the person know they were reported and they proceeded to curse at me with terrible spelling. I ignored this. This person was created today with no info on file.

This was actually the first time ive had to file an AR but I have heard of several similiar incidents.

Torley was once one of us and so far, the only thing that has changed about her is that she gets the nice shiney Linden title. I saw her in world at the site of the Collision Reporter, looked like she was getting her own copy of it and I can't say I blame her.

*ponders* I've done a few reports, one on.. Sunday, Sandbox Island, Nukes in the sandbox.

NOT ANYONE in all of SL has the right to speak ill of Torley. She is the single most understanding of all the lindens about how things effect the populous. She has a personal set of blogs where she speaks her mind and is EXTREMELY open in these forums about her personal views of all aspects of teh game. She has never avoided the issues. When you ask for reasons she EXPLAINS those reasons as what the official policy was in regards to it. THis does not always reflect her personal opinions. But when you ask for a REASON that is what you will get. Torley is very good at using humor and other methods to attempt to DIFFUSE tension and anger in posts. Thats not very easy to do in many of the VERY HEATED OPINIONS people post about. I myself never attempt to hide my views. When i disagree I am quite vocal about stating what I dislike on a given topic or discussion or methodology. There have been a few times where Torley's kind comments and understanding attitude have made a major difference in how I react to various policy changes. She doesnt lie. She doesn't sugar coat things. The fact she was willing to state that Linden as a hole was listening to the outcry about open registration was was quickly working to reinstate verification on the teen grid is the ONLY reason I didnt delete my nephews account there. I'm fairly sure it pevent many other adult supervisors besides myself from doing the same. NOT ONE other Linden would have had as much value on their word.

Yes i'm ranting. But it frustrates me to no end when people talk down about someone who is generaly their most vocal advocate and source of help.

I do speak against the the worshiped Torley, because she just is a lot of talk and no action.

Well i'm FINALLY starting to hear a few people tell me their agressor has been punished (more in-world than in the forums) but its STILL NOT MAKING IT INTO THE POLICE BLOTTER.

I'm also VERY glad to see all the forum violations this week. I've personally been happily tapping that /!\ button a bit more as im getting sick of people who have the _sole_ purpose of trying to piss people off. I dont care how little it is. Kick them out of the forums for a few days and let them calm down, there is NOTHING wrong with forcing someone to take a break if they are getting too emotional about some issues.

I've personally written a couple posts that i've had to _immediately_ hit the edit button on because i thought twice about it. And for what its worth if i had left some of those comments (replying to other flame issues) I would have been offended if some resmod didnt suspend BOTH me and the original poster. I dont want to be exempt from any rules. But in all regards LL needs to ENFORCE their rules better, and when they enforce them LET THE COMMUNITY KNOW.

There should not be a single punishment given out (except some verbal warnings) that doesnt make it to the police blotter. ANYTHING requiring a written warning or above should be posted. LET THE COMMUNITY KNOW that something is being done.

I've written a SL Answers post of my own explaining i've recently gained a LOT of my original faith in LL back due to some quick recoveries they've done. With some of torley's insites that a few other tools really _are_ in the works that calms my fears even more. But its not yet quite enough. There is still a large ammount of mistrust left with removing our PVP reports (bringing them back wont remove those fears, only quite the screams a bit) so we need to know something actually HAPPENS.

My recommendation is to update the TOS so that it reads:

If any form of punishment is deemed neccisary on your accounts you will have 1 week to file any appeals on the matter. If no appeal is approved within a week of the punishment, the full name of the avatar directly responsible will have their name posted along with a description of the incident. Other accounts determined to also belong to you will suffer the same punishment but the names of the alt accounts will not be released. In the future we reserve the right to start including all known alts in these public records for extreme offenses involving violence and intolerance.

To me even NOW there is no privacy issue involved with releasing the primary name. No TOS update is legally required. Its the name of the ACCOUNT being punished that is open record, not any information identifying the PERSON who owns the account. Even if Alts are mentioned that still only links account names and NOT the person themself. This is a step I highly support and feel should have been part of the police blotter s ystem all along.
