Perhaps all the people who are complaining about SL being down, should enjoy the sunshine, their families, do some yard work before the grind of going back to work. Sheesh people.

Not sure where you live but it's dark outside my window, and my neigborhood isn't the safest place to play after dark.

Oh, I don't think of SL as an MMORPG, it's just loosely similar enough for comparisons to be made. And I'm just as eager as anyone to get back in-world, but I'm just too tired to stress and worry much about it right now. ;)

Also: Yay for cyborz.

I got my cyborz out of the way early today, but I did have quite a bit of building I wanted to do before I have to return to the world of the real tomorrow.

4 hours down and two very nebulous updates. Makes a person why they are dumping $125/mo in tier.

Then stop dumping the money. Because then you'd stop complaining about it here.

Then everyone's happy.

I'd actually like to know the full process you're doing. I've been watching sims go up and down and not sure what exactly is going on. It looked like everything was almost back up, and now a bunch of sims went down.

Actually the latest info about 1.9.1 is stating dealing with this issue of wide-scale attacks.

Eh, true, it's not ideal, but it could be a lot worse. At least LL admit that there's a problem -- I've seen some MMORPGs where the staff adamantly insist the users are at fault or say nothing at all, then quietly fix the problem a few hours later.

...and I have seen Linden do the exact same thing.

Thank you Torley, and I do realise they probably tell you a lot of things and you are instructed not to tell us. However a question I have and I am sure everyone else is getting to have floating around the back of thier mind....why is it each successive "upgrade" ( and I use the term loosely) brings more bugs without fixes or attention from Linden Labs and there are bugs still remaining that became apparent as of say version 1.7 that NO ONE has adresed as yet. Why not put some investment of man hours into fixing the current disaster as compared to the huge expense of developping newer more serious bugs to add to the plate? When is LL going to start making the ToS apply to everyone rather than leting a chosen few do whatever they please merely on the basis of how many sims they own? You guys have a lot of work to do. I'd sugest you start doing it before someone comes along who DOES provide the service the represent, and stop spending so much time on upgrades that will only make issues even worse.

Just lost my connection finally. Not sure what it means as far as getting close to being done, but one thing is for certain, no more updates from me haha.

Up/Down, round and round

So just wondered if all these weird roaming Sim lag demons we have been having since late February are related to todays shutdown?

Things were running like clockwork 2 months back (well sort of) now it seems there are only like 3 sims in the maingrid that don't slingshot your char when your flying thru.

Seems a waste to have $3k of topend PC gear running with ALL options set to minmum.
If I wanted that I would start playing EQ1 again ;p

(hmmm things were SORT OF ok before the 1.9 release if I remember correctly, is this really a VIRUS?)

SO far I am still in

My map is finally updating. Looks like about 2/3 of the grid is up but there is some wierd up then down on odd sims. about half the islands are up. Now this is my map which has been flakey through all this.

It looks like most of the sims are at least showing on the map now but there are still a whole lot of red ones. It's getting better folks hang in there.

What is the point of being updated every so long? There is nothing we can do until the grid is open... Why does having a Linden say "we are doing our best to resolve the issue and reopen the grid" make you feel better? How many times do you have to hear it? Do you think they are just all going to go home and go to bed and leave the grid down????

Now for the love of God, sit back, shut up, and wait til you see the thread saying the Grid has reopened!
