4 hours down and two very nebulous updates. Makes a person why they are dumping $125/mo in tier.

That's because they're busy. I've been watching them the whole time.

Well, there's very little point in having someone stop by every ten minutes and going, "Yep, it's still down!"

not saying once every 10 minutes. How about every 30 minutes or an hour, saying what % of the grid has been restores. Some of us have things we'd like to accomplish in world. Would give us a clue if we should wait up or just call it a night and go to bed. A LITTLE consideration for people who are shelling out a hell of a lot of money.

Eh, true, it's not ideal, but it could be a lot worse. At least LL admit that there's a problem -- I've seen some MMORPGs where the staff adamantly insist the users are at fault or say nothing at all, then quietly fix the problem a few hours later.

I'll update when we have more news. Pardon if you're anxious!

Yes, very very busy here... lots of internal action going on behind-the-scenes.

Okay, if you want me to post every 10 minutes... that can be done... just look for all my new posts on the forums. :)

You don't have to be sarcastic it about it. The can see the obvious. I would like to know what % of the grid has been restored. People who are still in world can see the red squares going away, so why can't that information be relayed to those of us who cannot login.

Posting every ten minutes is not the point. The point is the grid has been down for over four hours, and we are told thank you for your patience. I realize there is a limited amount of information you can feed us. But there are so many regions. How many regionns are still being cleaned up/restarted? How many are stable? With this information, given the time the grid has been down, I can figure out if it's worth staying up any longer. Our time is valuable too.

So have I.

BUT LL has stated repeatedly they are working to keep us informed. In all honesty until this particular attack they have been doing one heck of alot better at it than they did even a year ago. BUT I figure it this way. The guys working to fix it will have to take a bathroom break at some point, why not fire off a post real fast just to give us a rough ballpark of what is going on?Take 2 minutes and make the customers a whole lot happier. :)

I have not been able to log in since 1:30 PST. I'm happy for you if you were, but issues existed at that time that prevented people from logging in, regardless of when LL claims the grid officially went down.

Cheers.

These numbers are being updated and moving fast--but if and when I have more info that'd be of usefulness to the community at large, I'll of course post about it.

Right now, there's a lot of rearranging going on, shuffling of regions-on-servers, checking them to make sure they'll start right and stay that way, etc.

Perhaps all the people who are complaining about SL being down, should enjoy the sunshine, their families, do some yard work before the grind of going back to work. Sheesh people.

Actually, I more or less agree with all of the above, I guess I just got the wrong end of the stick. Wanting to know what's going on as time progresses, I'm all for that; I just thought people were wanting updates of any kind, even if they were just to say "we're still working on it" -- which seems pointless to me.

Perhaps I've just been tainted by too many years of playing MMORPGs, where we'd be lucky if the staff even admit a problem exists, so two updates within three (?) hours is practically heavenly in comparison to what I'm used to.

Though, with that said, I still like playing devil's advocate when I'm bored.

Agreed and they did say a couple of hours, however as we all know LLs arent the quickest at sorting messes up shall we open a book and see who can get the closest to Grid opening times or better still shall we have a book as to when the next grid attack will be or shall we all hope and pray that further updates concentrate on fixing the errors there already are and not making floaty prims as i wud prefer a more stable grid before we have all these fancy enhancements :)

Understood. But to many of us, SL is much more than a MMORPG. Many people have considerable financial investment in SL, a hell of a lot more than a $14.95/mo subscription to WOW. And of course there are those of us who just want cyborz

Oh, I don't think of SL as an MMORPG, it's just loosely similar enough for comparisons to be made. And I'm just as eager as anyone to get back in-world, but I'm just too tired to stress and worry much about it right now. ;)

Also: Yay for cyborz.
