From: Taco Rubio I am going to go with the majority of views on this issue. As this is a system of critical importance that will affect each and every one of us on a continual basis for the rest of our real lives, I am extremely displeased that there isn't MORE outrage about this. THIS MATTERS, people, and is worth getting very upset about.
I plan on down-tiering, and rolling myself back to 1.2 immediately, and I strongly encourage everyone else do the the same. They can't do this to us, they're taking away our rights to something. I'd also like to see more people join the RL strike I'm planning about this terribly grave issue.
j'dorks. Look here, Bud. I have spent the past few weeks battling a serious and elusive blockage in real life. After repeated plunging, snaking, and chemical warfare, I can finally say that the crap is flowing freely in my house. I expect to be able to say the same about the forums in my SL.

From: Siobhan Taylor I volunteered, and was more than surprised to be picked. Thing about the nominations though was that Jeska implied they had pre-nominated some themselves, so the question is... for those who volunteered, and for those who were volunteered by others ... would any of us have been picked anyway? Chances are we'll never know... although, maybe it will have baring on future re-postings... maybe not... AR'ed for excessive reasonableness and charm.

I, for one, will get a secret little thrill if I get moderated by another resident.

From: Margaret Mfume I expect to be able to say the same about the forums in my SL. You own SL now This is most distressing news. Where was the announcement? Why wasn't SL on the public auction block? I'm simply never going to pay tier to Margaret This whole thing is an OUT-rage.

Desmond, you'll have to start a new thread for that to happen as we can't edit individual posts. i still might even be able to sticky you! (that's just so wrong.. )

Take my advice and think carefully before buying a house built in the 1920's. From: Gabe Lippmann You own SL now This is most distressing news. Where was the announcement? From: Aimee Weber HAHAH Good point. People don't get to hear this very often, but if you happen to be logged in when the Lindens revoke your FIC status, they actually play a game-show BZZZZT sound. Sort of like the one on Family Feud. What was the compensation rate for having your FIC card revoked?

To be honest, even though I volunteered (for comic relief!), I would've liked a grace period of two days to mull it over if I still wanted to do this. I'm humbled that I was picked, even more humbled after reading the reaction from people. I don't honestly know if I'm one of those who shouldn't be in this group. But I felt backing out once the announcement was made, made me cowardly. This whole process is definitely still taking baby steps. I'm just think of myself as part of the Beta ResMod team. At least, by letting LL know what works and doesn't, the next batch that comes will have the suggestions implemented and the transistion hopefully smoother.

*waves* Yes, I volunteered. Part for kicks, part as a personal challenge to myself (as if I needed one here ). I'm pleasantly surprised to have been chosen, and I thought about it overnight before accepting. I'm also flattered if the kinder comments about selection are in part directed toward me, if so thx. Yes, I don't post much here, thats rather obvious. However, I *do* read quite a number of threads now and then, I just either don't have the knowledge to post (and as such will not), or everything is quiet. There's also been RL issues over the past few months, on top of my comp issues with SL; Anyone here who has a stroke victim as a relative should be able to sympathise with what I'm going through just now. I *can* be prodigious when I want to however - at Notebook Forum I clocked up over 200 in four months and was going strong until my model notebook was killed, and lost major interest. And in the varying Uru forums its another 300 or so in about 18 months now. It would not surprise me if the selection were in part due to what sub-forums each peruses the most - has anyone thought of that? For example, I have never gone into the Politics subforum, and I suspect that I still may not (I get enough of that RL thx). Also, time zones and times when people are on I'm sure are another factor - I work 3rd shift EST and as such present an interesting coverage time on the weekend, for example (not that I care much really). However, yes I also agree with Jeffrey here in the fact that notification first would have been nice. As has been beaten enough times, this is their *first time* trying this, and I always knew in part some mistakes were to be made - both by LL and perhaps some of us. This kinda discussion is important to flesh out the details as they arise, and stuff like this is best done in the first couple days when its most maleable.

Wowza, this has been stickied. I'm going to read this over once, and then read it over again to learn more. There are so many great ideas that can lead to action here... and good for us I'd be worried about apathy, if anything... zombieism sucks. And caring is sharing. That sounds funny but I'm serious.
