I'm not sure whether to be sad or glad but SL has not appeared in my dreams at all. This might just mean, however, that there's so little distinction between the two lives that I can't tell the difference.

I often have dreams where I (Madeleine) have a small apartment in Neualtenburg which in the dream is a real city. I've yet to have the flip-side dream, however, where Kendra lives in Brooklyn, NY.

I actually DID say LOL in real life few times, luckily it was only with my hubby...so we looked at each other and decided to log off. I also have dreams as my avatar, they are much cooler than the 'regular' ones. I get to ride my bikes and do lots of funky stuff.

My av has not made it into my dreams, nor have I had dreams of the SL world, however, other people's avs have escaped SL into my real world dreams.
I have also found, on a rare occasion, that after sitting in front of the comuter for a while, I'll answer the phone and find my capacity for audible speech has atrophied.

From: Siggy Romulus I've had dreams consisting of nothing but 68k Assembly code scrolling down a screen.. Worst I had was a fever dream where I tried to find out how to debug the operating system of my body, because something seemed seriously wrong. It took me conscious effort to convince myself that it's not the stupid me who can't do that, but that it just can't be done. I'm new at SL, but plunged into it deeply, spending several hours there in the first week, building and exploring and writing simple scripts. In a major RL hangover I was drifting all night through some 3d-rendered world, looking for something and generally being very unhappy. Awful.

You know you have been in SL tooo much when.....
01-18-2006 07:22
1. You dream about your SL life in RL. 2. You try to figure out how to build something from RL with prims. 3. You try to remember someone's name in RL - and find yourself looking over their head. 4. You are writing a formal memo to your boss in RL and find yourself writing "LMAO". 5. It is night and you think that you can force the sun to make it day. 6. You try to point at someone and right-click to figure them out. ..... What is on YOUR list?
HEHEHHEHE - GREAT thread MarkTwain!

My ex-boyfriend use to talk in his sleep, in code.
in the middle of the night he would roll over and blurt some code in my ear, tres romantic.
It was a truely geeky household while it lasted, to annoy him I would leet speak, like when he would fart around taking his time to mow the lawns or do the washing I'd say "joo is teh suxor" and things like that.
our alphabet magnets on the fridge were aranged in html and other slices of code.
we had 5 computers between the two of us.
I'd skype him from the next room to say goodnight.
note I also said ex-boyfriend

Yeah. I usually fitful dreams where not all the peices fit together, and make a kind of thought loop. A few have been in SL, a few were in games I've played, books I've read. But nothing really interesting or specific.
Do avatars dream of scripted splodeycows?

If my Everquest years are any indication it will be at least another year before I am regularly dreaming of Second Life. EQ dreams are crazy!

I've never had a dream where I was in SL. Anyway I look enough like myself and act enough like myself in sl that being Rickard wouldn't be mind bending. I have on the other hand had dreams were I was myself in rl and everything worked like it was sl. I've had dreams where I've built things in rl that I've built in sl. hehe, it's trully awsome to dream about rezzing even a plywood cube from nowhere in rl. And to walk out to the parking lot and get in a hovercar and fly away. le sigh, very good dreams. Also, communicating in text is better than speaking in a dream though I can't read the text when I'm dreaming. I know what it says. hehe, and to edit my appartment is fun also . done all of that. this is why I really really want sl to improve. When sl is photorealistic it will literally be the place of my dreams. oh and yes, I've caught lol and rofl on the tip of my tongue before .

Thanks for the Memories

From: Rickard Roentgen I've had dreams where I've built things in rl that I've built in sl. <snip> When sl is photorealistic it will literally be the place of my dreams. Wow! When I started this thread it had not occured to me how I have brought my dreams INTO SL. Your post jogs my memory. When I first got started in SL I aquired a nice point of land in URDU (with a 270 degree unobstructed view of the ocean) in order to build a home. Not just any home, a very specific home. I hired Lordfly Digeridoo to help me recreate in SL a home that was originally built IN MY MIND as a meditation place back in 1975. The original mediation home was perched on a cliff above crashing surf on a non-specific point on the Central California coast. I had many wonderful hours in that meditation home over the years and I decided that I wanted to make it "real" in Second Life. Lordfly was patient with my constant suggestions for changes as the project went forward and I ended up with my wonderful mediation place as my home in Second Life. It has subsequently been moved to my sim, Hollywood, and floated some 50 meters above Hollywood Island. Thank you for bringing back that memory and the realization as to how much SL and RL can cross lines for those that want to integrate our creative sides in both worlds. Here is my home in Hollywood sim today: Here is the view of Hollywood from the living room area:

Once I had a dream that I was flying around like we do in SL. It was so much fun and exciting that all I did for a good while after waking up was talk to my bf about it. He vowed to spend more time with me and take me out more often from then on

I have had SL dreams, but even worse, WoW dreams where lvl 60 night elves, gigantic bears and massive yellowish green spiders were chasing me. Members of the Feted Inner Horde were trying to save me but getting killed left and right. In those dreams I was SL Sans and my boyfriend was SL Mulch, except he could go into stealth mode.

Just a couple of days ago at work, a woman walked by my desk. I looked at her shirt and thought, "Those are prim cuffs!"

For the past few days, I've been dreaming in Build Mode ... and in Photoshop. So when I wake up, I feel like I've done a lot of work, but I log in and the canvas is still blank. Dangit.

From: Siggy Romulus Seriously though - my dreams usually take the 'viewpoint' of what I've been doing a lot of - especially if I spend too long doing it and cross into sleep deprivation.
I've had dreams consisting of nothing but 68k Assembly code scrolling down a screen..
Actually they were pretty cool. I have had about the same dream that's totally relevant to SL many times. The problem is, the first time I had it was back in the early '80s. Like, I was dreaming about SL back before there was such a thing, back when rendering ONE frame would have taken half a day on a big minicomputer. One example: I'm working on the code for my body, and I've screwed up the code for opening my eyes. I can't fix it. Because I can't open my eyes. The code for my eyes, that I couldn't read because I couldn't open them, was definitely assembly language. Fast forward to 2005. Guess what. Bug in a blink script. Couldn't open my eyes. I had the most amazing sense of deja vu right there.

From: Forseti Svarog I've totally found myself thinking... and almost saying LOL... thankfully I catch myself but man it eats into your speech pattern doesn't it. No, I don't LOL much at all, I'm more ^_^ or o_O! But don't ask me about saying "/me is", instead of "I am".

I had a weird dream that my avatar was eating a giant marshmallow. When I woke up, my pillow was gone!
Also, I occasionally "hehe" in public, so I'm trying to use more LOL's and ROFL's in chat.

My avatar doesn't dream, of course. It might have when I was more immersed.
I have had SL dreams, way back a long time ago, I dreamed that Jill Linden and Panthar Orlowski stole my land. Where my land was was just a black void. When I woke up this was so distressing that I had to immediately start up SL and check to make sure.
