does this seem odd to any of you, or is it normal around here? arent there laws against this sort of thing? I left a few months ago, and i dont remember it being this bad, and no one seems to even talk about it. i mean, are my morals that off where the majority thinks this sort of thing is ok? SL is not on-line Role playing game. Yeah, sheesh, no kidding. I mean if it even -permitted- roleplaying, they would have called this thing something like "Another Life" or "Alternate Life" some weird-ass name like that, which would have just crazy connotations. |

I'd like to study it/him/her in close detail, it would be a great chance for science to see something normal... Fo that matter, I have still to find a 'normal' person in RL as well... I think the USA have one of them hidden deep below ground at Area 51, descecting it and studying the normal organs they pluck out of it. Course as a furry, i'm not allowed anywhere near it... (nor would I want to, BTW) |

Yeah, the one with the AV shape that you're nto sure is male or female.. With the textures that are always rezzing and are just grey so you never know what they're wearing... One of SL's potentials (and it's being realized) is a venue for character-driven role playing. Roleplaying covers a wide spectrum of playstyles and the games you mention cover only a part of that spectrum. Because of extreme flexibility SL can address yet another large chunk of that spectrum. If you think the MMOGs you listed are all there is to roleplaying, you are missing a lot. _____________________

SL fits the definition of game to me. A roleplaying game (RPG) is a type of game in which players assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. As a game it fits the definition of rpg. Now maybe it isn't a rpg to you, but it is to me and many other. |

Now that this girl has read all the thoughts and comments here, she had something to say. This girl was a regular player in SL a while ago under a no longer existent name. In that time, she had a daughter who was into “age play”. It’s not something that is sexual at all to the majority of people who are age players, they just enjoy being kids and acting as kids in a make-believe world. Are there people who do twist it into something sexual, possibly, but taking a small section of people and declaring their behavior is what the entire group is about is wrong. This girl also knew a lot of furries. They were a fun group who loved to goof off and party. Did they have sex in game? Who knows and who cares. This girl played a big white polar bear in TSO for a while and had a blast, didn’t involve beastiality at all, unless bearhugs count. Now, this girl had always looked down on Goreans. Wondered how on earth a woman would allow herself to be treated so bad. But, instead of judging without knowing, this one went to a few Gorean Sims as a guest, dressed as a Free Woman. Learned quite a lot on those visits. It’s easy to look at something you don’t understand or know anything about and condemn it. However, this girl has learned that the Gorean Roleplay is based on a series of Sci-Fi books, books that this one is enjoying reading. This girl created herself over and started fresh. She is now a Gorean Slave and VERY happy. The word slave has a lot of negativity around it, and while this girl understands why, the Gorean Slave is different, and the Gorean Roleplay is not solely built around slavery, there’s much more to it and it’s all very exciting. It’s not something that’s easy to explain. If you are open minded and curious, visit a Gorean Sim. You will find that most Goreans will show you around, answer your questions and welcome guests, as long as you are respectful of their laws. So, you can sit back and scream that all who are part of something you don’t understand or wish to learn about are deprave, but the more logical people will ask questions and learn before they make a judgment. |
