What is Going on Linden

I get the : Unable to connevt to second Life, Despite our Best efforts Blah Blah Blah
instantly. In 20 minutes the grid has supposedley been opened 10,000 people could have logged in, although unlikely as 10,000 people are never logged in at one time anyway.
So this really does BLOW its gonna be slow outa the water.
So come on Linden what have you done this time ?

cannot log in

I am also not able to log in and keep getting the despite our best efforts dialog box. I also cannot contact support the 800 # has been busy for the last 15 min. I also uninstalled all files and re-installed the new set-up all to no avail still can't get past the "despite our best efforts", would really appreciate some feedback from a valid representative of SL who can shed some light on the problem and the steps to fix.

AnnaLisa, just keep trying. Do not discon your viewer, or anything until it gives you the "We're sorry, blah, blah," message. Everyone is trying to log in, so the queue is pretty long. (Not kidding here, it took me repeated discon messages before I got logged in.) This happens with every major update.

I think they corrected our start locations to our desktop.. Seems to be the only place half of us are going. Does this mean I have to do more real life stuff? That's starting to get old..

Not to be mean, but this seems to happen with every point release............ The 1.7 to 1.8 was a debacle.

Hmm.. it's been a while since I dealt with the after effects of an update. I think I left for a break not too long after 1.5 or 1.6 (Too many numbers ago, anyways.) I recall this being the case with most of the ones before that. Eh, at least they seemed to have learned to let the servers stabilize before letting us hit the grid, because so far I haven't had the teleport issue that used to occur.
