Why stop with profiles? I think all unverified accts should have a big fat U tatooed on their foreheads. That way we won't have to take the time to read their profiles -- we can start discriminating against unverified people as soon as we see them! Oh and why stop with a tatoo? Don't let them wear anything but rags! That's right -- if you are unverified your avie gets RAGS and you can't change or even wear the freebies unless you give CC info. But why stop with icky clothing? Lets confine them to their own area that looks like our area only not as pretty and it smells. That way we won't have to be bothered by these horrid unverified people who won't give you their cc number and might be griefers. But definitely the tat is the first step. Profiles are so passe and besides I really can't be bothered to take the time to read them.

I detect a lot of anger in this one. She will be a great asset to the Dark side of the Forum. My advice: Take a deep breath. Avoid hyperbole. It's bad for your blood pressure. Wendel

Sounds good. Especially the "smells bad" part. Smell-o-vision for the win. Seriously, how long did people expect LL to give away a full, unrestricted version of their product to anyone without even asking for basic verification information in return?

Oh wait you don't have time to read this post either. well if you don't have time to take 3 seconds to look at a profile then you must not have time for SL. so save us this wast of posting space and go back to your no time for anything life.

From: Maddie McNally well if you don't have time to take 3 seconds to look at a profile then you must not have time for SL. so save us this wast of posting space and go back to your no time for anything life. Going out on a limb here, but I believe the profile bit was a jab at banning based on a flag, rather than taking the time to see if they (the unregistered user) had filled theirs out in effort to be part of the community.

Next time I'll use sarcasm on off tags so that it is easily detectable by the unwary! From: Maddie McNally Well i guess you don't have time for SL then. But they aren't asking for basic verification information. They USED to do that and when they did, life was good. Well life was good except for the lag and the other griefers and the value of the $L dropping and all the other stuff that was not-good. But I digress. They aren't asking for verification info. They are turning people who don't give that into third-class citizens. Why is it supposed that this will stop griefing? If I, unsuspecting what it would mean to be so branded, made an acct and figured that since I didn't have to give out my cc info I wouldn't, and then came into the game and everyone or a lot of people treated me badly because of this, I would be upset. I might even grief! Especially those who treated me badly. This is a bad solution to a problem of their own creation. And yes I'm going to patent smell-o-vision as soon as I invent it ;p From: Cory Edo Sounds good. Especially the "smells bad" part. Smell-o-vision for the win. All unverifieds need to be forced into a sheep avatar until they cough up some verification! I want a red U if I get to choose the color.

Let's face it.. The unverified are lesser beings..
I would probably cut off my own limbs if I so much as brushed against one of them.

From: Vivianne Draper But they aren't asking for basic verification information. They USED to do that and when they did, life was good. Well... they are asking for verification if you want to be verified, but they're giving you a choice now too. What was your problem again ? Some of the people posting here should really try getting a sense of perspective.

I actually have 2 people on my friend's list with fake pics. I've also run into 3 different people all with the same young woman as their 1st Life picture. I have a hard time believing ONE person in SL happens to be a specific 19 year old xxx website star, let alone 3 different ones with totally different personalities, spelling/grammar habits, interests, and claiming different ages/locations.

I think I do have a sense of perspective. I think its wrong to make third class citizens and I think these people will be treated badly.

I dont think there is a problem to include the words verified/unverified in a profile, after all we see that in Ebay and other sites. (hmmm...wonder if this verification inspiration came from the ebay guy...) But, the indication that the account was successfully used and billed is unneccessary. It does feel like a scarlet letter style system of status. What about the letter "D" in the profile for DEADBEAT?
