Yet another scam

I swear some people are really low and desperate for lindens. I've become aware of a person, who has several alternates, is selling items at yard sales/flea markets. Yeah that's great... hmm no. They have pictures of all kinds of top designer clothes... Nyte N Day, Simone, a few others I can't remember right off hand. But the clothes in the boxes are NOT by these designers, what you are getting doesn't even look like the pictures. (Remember the bodies by blake incident? Same person!)

So, make sure you check the properties (who made it) on clothes you buy that don't come directly from the designers. If it says made by "nobody" and it's supposedly by Nyte N Day.. it's NOT by Nyte N Day.

To yard salers: I'm sorry but I can't guarantee the quality of anything sold outside my main location. So, buyers beware.




Few other boxes out here with designers' naes on them, but no creator... caliente', bodies by blake, etc. IM me in world for location if you want to see one of the yard sales where this is happening. Thanks.

As said above make sure you check properties of clothing items mines are also there for your protection always check the creator of items this person has several yard sales can't say names (unless strapped and tickled) But in all seriousness we all work very hard to create unique designs for you and it really ticks me off how some people want to take advantage of others by scamming them this way.

the shame will be that people will be wary of yard sales, or, mad at creators for turning out junk when they buy something like this and believe the person named onthe box as creator really DID make this crap.

Or worse still, the shame will be when designers start making their things no tran to stop this sort of nonsense.

I hope people make an effort to start policing their yard sales a little better, maybe?

If someone is selling other items under your tradename using your salesboxes, it is fraud and a violation of the DMCA. Getting someone who a) has the power to do something and b) cares might be a little more hassle than you were hoping for.

.. and you dont have to tickle me for names! Just IM me in world I have a list of names to share, and am standing at a yard sale right now with bogus stuff for sale.

Time for LL to focus on the creativity aspect again, in my opinion.
The things people will do to get that "real money" is beyond pathetic.

To the designers being 'forged' (for lack of a better term) report this! This goes beyond just duping your designs, this is using your name and reputation to deliberately rip people off, leaving you to clean up after them and deal with angry customers. This hurts your reputation and your bottom line. Insist that LL do something about this. Don't accept 'not getting involved in personal disputes' as an excuse.

I think that's probably (hopefully) obvious for most people, but I still bet it's the excuse LL uses for not ending this unethical and scamming practice. Either 'personal dispute' or 'file a DMCA takedown'. I'd like to see LL defend this practice if people push the issue. Maybe something good would come from it.

the outfit is by Caliente Express, on the right. The one on the left is the forgery. The textures were obviously stolen to make the second outfit on the left. It's being sold with wuvme's original display cover, as wuvme's original work.

It's a real pity they haven't learnt how to steal textures. At least if the fakes are the same as the real ones, it wouldn't hurt the originators reputation that much.

That is what the DMCA was - in part - intended to protect against: misappropriation of copyright elements for material gain. If these are being boxed in someone else's sales box, the copyright violation has happened.

Unfortunately, the singular "remedy" is to have the Lindens remove the infringing object when convenient, if convinced, and if no counterclaim is made. And then you'll just have another player popping up selling the infringing work. Worse still, to my layman's reading, DMCA Title II, Sec. 512(a) pretty much says LL doesn't owe you anything, and section 512(j)(2)(A) could be interpreted as meaning LL doesn't even have to remove the content if it is too hard for them.

Sigh... just when you think you've got a chance to stick it to the pirates.

The Blake rockwell thing was when i was new and complete diff from what u r saying...I have alt av's yes...2 and i pay for them...Apollonia Rosebud and Lily Petion....I sell only at my own yard sale...I don't even know u Anastazia Lemieux...and never have talked to u so to blame me is BS....I spend a lot of time at my own yard sale...I don't go to others and i don't have my other av's selling anything. ..I am getting imz from ppl saying its me and that I told ppl i was these "quote" ALTS..and thats complete. not true...So ana b4 u start the lies get ur damn facts straight. I don't need the BS and drama. I don't steal clothes ..how i could is not even understood to me but ok...and what i sell, is what i have collected...i do the same as u...buy low and resell....I have never ever had a complaint from anyone...So whoever CLAIMS I told them these alts as u call then were me..please stand forward

The only reason I even know about this stupid post is because one designer did the normal thing and imed me and sent me a link to this...explaining what was happening. I do what u do ana...buy and sell....u don't know me so plz accuse someone else
