Goodluck nimrod, the fanatic grim babies friendly resmod would kill this thread soon...

We really need a forum where real customers could warn/discuss/review products they buy without getting threats from a fascist content creator and their equally blind fans.

This will not end well...

Me, I'd just set up my own range in competition and give them a one finger salute for being treated like that when you're only trying to help.

Hmm, I didn't get the scripts though.

I've got no clue how these things actually work, as they don't interest me... but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for a reasonable scripter to come up with something.

I kinda envisage them being like Sims Online characters - needing feeding, sleep and suchlike. That kind of 'AI' requirement would add a lot to those of us who are used to a little more everyday realism in our online gaming.

Just thought of something interesting (that's probably been done in other games).

How about if such babies are networked, and they all react to each other (neg/pos). This would be a lot more than localized AI. The babies could even learn things from other babies etc (hey if mommy repeats a word enough times, the baby should repeat it back) etc..

Now that would be a cool feature. Babies/pets could randomly make friends with other such units that they come in contact very often etc...

Sooo my friend and I walk into Grim Babies and we get one each. On the way out of the store I noticed mine was full permissions, so I told an owner outfront. She went into the store, and took all the boxes so that no more babies with full permission scripts would be released. The owner asks for mine, and said we would recieve all of the future updated babies free, and also would recieve a refund, and with hesitation I give him the baby and the HUD it came with. When he asked if my friend had one, I said yes, and he asked for hers. I told her, then asked where the clothing store was, which he pointed me to.

On the way to the clothing store, she gave me her baby and asked me to see if it was bugged, because she did not want to wait for a new baby if it wasn't. It was, so I gave it back to her, then she gave it to the owner. The owner said he never got the HUD, but my friend cannot find it. So he contacted a Linden and we waited for the issue to resolve. We waited 3-4 hours(It was 6:30AM before we were allowed to leave. My friend has class at 8 AM) for them to talk with the Linden. They then said that if anything were to happed to the HUD scripts that we would get blamed for it. He then said that we did have the scripts then proceeded to ban us and mute us.

This is great, we try to do something good, and we get blamed for the bad. I guess we get all the blame for everyone who has a full script permission baby, DO NOT release the scripts.

I can understand him worrying, but to the point of banning, muting, and ripping off a customer?

I guess I shouldn't have told them that their scripts were open, because now she's 2k short, and in deep shit for something someone else can do.

To the Resmods: I did not name names, post chat logs, or do anything against the TOS. This is not a personal discussion because it is a warning to people who had Grim Babies.

Sooo....you noticed a mistake that they had made, and got in trouble for it, and the Lindens and the merchant blamed you *and* ripped off your friend for the price of the product?

Well, thanks for telling us. I know one creator who will never get a single $L of mine or any of my friends money.

I own 4 Grim Babies, including a custom one that I paid for through Paypal. They could have just taken my money and ran but they didn't. When I pointed out that the custom babie did not have a feature I requested at the last minute, they worked to add that feature in very quickly. I'd like to hear their side of this story.

I think the forums could use a ResellerRatings-like section.

Just a thought.

[EDIT]
Actually now that I think about it, SL itself could use such a feature.

I was the first to speak with Nimrod, and I pulled the babies, because I didnt know what to do. Nimrod says "well I better get free babies for this". I told her I was sure she would, the Grim guys are great, everyone knows that. Has anyone EVER had a customer service issue at Grim Babies? no. JUST Nimrod? seems so. I would say thats more then a little fishy, sorry Nimrod, the Grim guys have my full support.

sad to say this but the grim baby designer is not very nice and very immature. I would never buy anything from him.

so for future never buy anything form him or anyone he is part of.

Also it was a nice thought to try to tell the owner but as you see it turned out bad to do, use this lesson for future refference and next time you find something like that keep it to your self, since people like him can't accept the messups they do and have to blame others.

You will find there are alot of greedy people like him, I will however say most of the bigger more known designers will not treat a customer like that. and would not rip you off. so stay away form that guys stuff.

I believe everyone can have different experiences of the same person. I have never had a problem with Grim.

Ok for one if Nimrod bought one of the babys and gave it back to you he is intitled to a nother baby or a refund. its that simple

Reading more into the story that was handled wrong if you were banned and muted. but however if the babys were full perm then you could have endless copys of them. so its hard to really know if you gave it and or deleted the full perm one

I think it was just a bad experinece

I am sure being endorsed by someone who copies other people's builds makes them feel warm and fuzzy.

Let me start off by saying that normally I dont post replies on the forums. Too much misunderstanding and drama for me. But being somewhat involved in the situation here are my thoughts:

It is my sincerest hope that those of you who read a forum post and are in full support of one side of a situation, no matter what it is, are not RL voters (bc those are the ones who vote for one thing and complain about it later). Jumping on bandwagon by only hearing one side of the story is wrong and can only lead to trouble. I wish people reading/posting on forums werent so quick in clicking reply/quote, and instead try taking a few seconds to see if there is another side to the story. Then by all means, if you dont like what you hear, then is the time to stand up for what you feel is right.

Knowing both sides to this story, I continue to be in support of what the GrimBabies are and their makers.

The owner said he never got the HUD, but my friend cannot find it.

Aside from the whole customer service issue, since the 1.11 patch I've had this problem a couple of times where items that I had just purchased did not appear in my inventory until after I restarted Second Life. (A merchant instructed me to do this when I had this problem in his store, and he was right.) Did either of you try looking for the HUD after restarting SL?
