The names have been changed to protect the guilty. Never have I ever been treated so rudely by a Linden. Denial isn't going to solve this problem...sadly, I'm not convinced inflicting another update upon us will help much either.

You probably new a need computer, Kiamat. I can't believe you wasted LLs time with your personal issues. Do you think they're there to tend to your performance issues and provide customer service?

I don't think Lindens should fall under the no naming names rule. Which Linden was that, that is pathetic. It is bad enough that we had this bug filled crap subjected upon us, but then to have employees act that way is unacceptable.

Well, when that happens, you abuse report him, with the chat history sent with it. This will allow them to see when an employee oversteps.
That have ways to confirm what you sent to them was really said from sim logs. And trust me, they WILL deal with it. While all tech support reps will side with each other against a bad customer, they will also personally execute one that makes customers mad on a regular basis. Nobody wants to get the callback from a ticked off customer who just got abused by a coworker.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, LL let an absolutely abysmal support person stay in support for years, even with all kinds of complaints about their behavior. It took a couple high profile fuck ups to really shine the light on it to them. He is still with LL I believe, but is no longer in tech support.

Wow wow wow.
Even if it was the internet connection to blame, that is one crap-ass way to treat a customer. Why not say something like, "please disconnect and do a speed test and get back to me when you log back in" - at least try some troubleshooting. If any of my support team treated a customer that way, they would be looking for another job.

I have seen 4 different reports this morning about 4 different Lindens acting this way today. And some of them are Lindens I would not have expected to behave this poorly. I understand stress...but the conversations I am seeing are beyond unacceptable.

That is truly awful! Let us hope that this type of treatment is an anomaly. I've been helped out so many times and so much from Lindens' in live help, it's really, well, heartbreaking to see the kind of treatment you received.

Together with all the additional workload of the flood of underage griefers, this update has generated some horrendous problems. How many island/estate owners who tried to use the estate tools to delete a single users scripted object that was causing problems, and found it deleted every scripted object belonging to every user on the sim would you be able to deal with at once and keep your cool? I know it's not an excuse for bad behaviour. But I do know a lot of Lindens are being run ragged trying to keep up, and are still, somehow, managing to keep fairly cool and deal with it. I'm not surprised some aren't. The people who really deserve criticism are the management who have got SL into it's current state - not the employees who are trying, and in some cases, regrettably failing, to deal with the problems.

well, I had a chat with a Linden. My issue, my main and 2nd avi won't connect to a sim. I made a 3rd, played a few hours, crashed n couldn;t connect to a sim. I made a 4th to talk to a Linden and he insisted the problem is on my end. Um, I wouldn't be able to connect if it was on my end. My RL roommate logged in fine from my comp...again, explain it. My accts are not suspended and have no blemishes. I'm not the only one with this problem either. Lindens are in denial that they fawked up. Many others here are screaming for a rollback....why not just do the damn rollback, make us happy, and then...we have nothing to bitch to them about? Stubborn pride in their faulty product is why. What would LL do if we boycotted for 1 day? I know, asking thousands to not log in is hard...but, might work.

Maybe there's something wrong with me... but i don't think anything the Linden said was "rude".
If anything i think you (Kiamat Dusk) were not being at all "helpful". You weren't providing much detail to the Linden at ALL. You claimed your problem is happening "everywhere" and like the Linden told you if the problem is really happening to you in every single region you try... it's very likely to be YOUR issue and not something with SL.
You didn't even tell the Linden =specific= sims the problem was happening in.
You claimed it was happening to other people. Yet you didn't give the Linden any specific names of any other people claiming to have the same problem.
You claimed that your bandwidth was "fine" yet when the Linden asked you what your bandwidth speed was you claim you are at a hotel so you don't know. SO! How can you say it's "not your bandwidth" when you don't even know what the hotel's max download speed IS??
You claim this wasn't an issue for you =until= the update. Have you been living in that hotel since =before= the update? If not - maybe your real home bandwidth and the hotel's is DIFFERENT.
To me it rather seems like you were wasting a Linden's time since you didn't provide any sort of helpful information to the Linden trying to assist you. How long, exactly, should the Linden stand around waiting for you to provide some sort of information that might actually allow them to help you? 10 minutes? 30? and hour? No, I know exactly how bad things are, and I know what its likely like in the offices there right about now. I have worked in the game industry on MMORPGs for many years. I know what the stress is like. I know the workload. I know what happens in the office when everything goes bad and your players are yelling for your heads in forums. I have been on that side of things far too much to not know exactly what is likely going on at LL these days. Knowing what it is like is why for 2 years you haven't seen me do much...or maybe any...complaining. I often go out of my way to help explain the situation behind the scene to others. I have been called a fangirl and a LL apologist several times because I understand how easy it is for things in a complex system like this to go wrong. All the more reason to recognize that something really bad is happening right now. If I and many of the usual suspects in this thread that are normally not known to complain are complaining...the situation is not looking good. But, stress in the offices is no excuse for poor communication to the player-base. yes, I know most game compoanies are known for horrible communication to their players, but just because my bosses have failed to do what was right doesn't mean I agreed with it. Communication is key. Lack of communication and impatient and rude LL employees are not helping the situataion. And as stated in another thread...it is never acceptable for an employee to be rude to customers, no matter how bad the stress or how fucked the situation.

On the one hand, there are definite issues with the currentpatch on SL. On the other, the original poster in his transcript gave no information that could be useful to track down a problem beyond "it's broken for me".
