Once, again, it is the residents that test and find "major showstopping" bugs. Hats off to Torley for filling the breach and falling on her sword whlle all other LL's remain silent in the Announcements and other Forum threads.
While the "Major Exploit" of yesterday was a bit complicated to execute, the major bug referenced above, aka, sloppy programming and testing, could have easily been discovered by the Development Team while testing ALL of the UI tools and client features prior to new version roll-out - with one click of the mouse button in the Estate Tools Debug window.
Like... "hey guys, we have been touching code on this major release for over a week. how about testing UI and features top to bottom just one more time prior to release?"
As I often say... "we be the lab rats". Plus, /we/ pay the company to do their testing for them. Sweet deal for Linden Research, Inc.
