OK, now I understand your proposal, Zepp. Yes, in that scenario inventories could be safely purged on logout. That said, I'm in favour of limited functionality in terms of a small amount of purchasing power, no cash or inventory transfer, no cash-out, limited to 3 or 5 groups, etc.... However, that might be too difficult for LL to implement and the type of scenario you described might be the way forward for LL.

Ceera, you bring up a valid point about the 'XXX' content. Maybe LL could include a feature in the land tools for land owners to block / ban unverified accounts and back this up with sanctions against XXX venues caught with unverified accounts on their premises. It would only take a few well-publicised show-trial cases for the rest of the 'XXX' venue operators to get the message.

This is teh same mentality that says i pay for a ticket to a baseball game so i can throw things at teh field and swear at players!

No, it isn't.

My mentality is: You broke the product I'm paying for, you fix it, not me.

Your theoretical mentality is: I payed someone, so I can be an asshole to everyone.

your use of profanity, your constant insistance on saying that i paid so i don't have to be nice, that i have a right to bitch and try to bring everybody else down?
Guess what, by posting you negitive remarks on a thread that was designed to be positive you are being a asshole to everyone, and claiming you could because you paid so that seems to be what your mentality is.
Again i'm not even sayin that i disagree with your stance, just your insistance to post it in a thread where non contructive posts were specifically asked not to be.
The attitude of many here (includeing at times myself) is that Everyone is intitled to MY opinion! It does not matter if i have anything to contribute or not, i MUST post.

your use of profanity,

Has no bearing on the issue, particularly since it was directed at LL, not at any forumite.

You mean my one statement, once? That's constant now?

so i don't have to be nice,

You're right, I don't have to be nice. However, I wasn't being rude - I was responding to a statement.

I was trying to do nothing of the sort.

My mentality is that since I pay LL, I'm not obligated to fix problems they cause. Stop reading other stuff into it that I never said.

My post was my contribution, and yes, I have a right to express it.

At least I contributed something to the topic, though. All you've done so far is attack me.

I think Cindy Claveau pretty much summed up my position on the matter, so rather than repeat the same words in my own voice, I will just say "what she said" and move on. :)

I like the concept as well, but I don't think allowing SL citizens to own the land there would be a good idea. Those plots of land would become the most sought-after property in all of SL. All new accounts will be spening time on those lands and, without knowledge of the rest of the world, will become loyal to any vendors setup on those lands.

This means, whoever owns the land will have the best potential for profit (which is what game is all about now, sadly). The prices for the land will be through the roof as the Land Baron's bid their prices to heights only they could afford. They will then turn around and just rent the land out for obscene proces to continue to keep their money flow in.
Profit? New accounts get neither starting funds nor stipend. Without supplying a payment method to get verified you cant purchase money from the LindeX. I mentioned above anyone unverified would not recieve money from anyone attempting direct 'pay' nor using a script for llGiveMoney().

So effectively if you are not verified you are GAURENTEED BROKE. That was intentional combonation of restrictions i said above so that 'visitor grid' would not be a merchant paradise for anyone by socialites passing out freebies.

As for 'all new residents' I dont see that as an issue either as most people are used to providing age verification and billing methods when signing up for an MMO. If the registration process brought people to the page to enter their billing info and just offered a "Get Verified Later" button to skip many people would still enter the info, especially if details of the choice were avialable.
