I usually say I'm from Asia, depending on the reaction I may or may not give the name of the country. I've had very bad experiences with Westerners mostly from the US asking me, surprised, that we're no longer living in trees or are impressed that we have access to the internet.

Or at worse asking if I used to be or worked as a domestic helper.

I usually answer Perth, Australia - nothing more specific than that (although I guess if someone went digging they might get my PO box.)
