So, how do you like the new photo system?

As of this moment, I hate it, only because its pretty complicated, the pics come out blurry and when you do adjust the settings so it looks better, the upload button fades out so you can't save.... If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong, please contact me in world, I would much appreciate the help.
On a positive note, I do like the fact that you edit the size and shape of the pic, like making it 512 x 512, texture size, looks much better on prims and less photoshopping I have to do.
So yea, I'm middle of the road.

From: Cinthya Vavoom I liked the old one before this new one alot better. I hate the new one its so poor quality looking snap shots. all i have to see is that this is a great way to take pics...i have already used it to its full potential and am loving it...as for Cin finding a decrease in quality...the shots have the same quality as they did befor...sometimes they will look a little fuzy on the screen but once they are save or uploaded they look the samme as befor.....

I like the new snapshot function.. but - it shouldnt be the default mode.. the original snapshot was good for most people, you could take a snap and move on without much trouble..
However, there's plenty of uses for the new system, mostly for the professional photographers in SL.. LL really needs to get better feed back on this kinda stuff..
Problem is, not nearly enough people try out the preview grid for various reasons.

I'd just like to thank LL for finally providing us the option to hide HUDs.

Jess Not only that, but having it turned off by default - and having the setting remain between logins. Thank you for fixing it, LL I was so tired of seeing images on Snapzilla ruined by HUDs after they suddenly decided to start showing them in pictures. Overall, I do not think the new functionality is an improvement in usability, but I do think that it does take better images. Further refinement of the UI and moving some of the options to an advanced view would help to mitigate confusion. Also, the much maligned flash and drop effects do need to go, but it is not the end of the world. I'm not sure what was driving the need for this feature, and it does have a ways to go, but it definitely does have some nice improvements.

Right Direction, but needs refinement

Overall, I think the new snapshot system is a step forward. But it definitely needs some work.
I like the ability to freeze time, but I'd like to be able to take more than one snapshot from that frozen moment. Would also like to save the entire moment in 3d to disk.
I like the bigger snapshot image, but I wish it didn't cover the entire screen. Might be nice to put it in a window and make it resizable.
Too many options in my face. Put it into an advanced button dialog or options menu.
Cheesy effects are fun the first few times, but become annoying very quickly. Lose the flash and ripping effects or make them optional.
It really depends on what I'm doing. If I'm taking stills and I have time to frame the shot, then the new capability is overkill. If I'm snapping an event, then it's nice to capture a moment and then frame it. But I risk missing subsequent action.
Best of all worlds would be the capability to save the 3d view for later. At an event, this would allow me to save several frozen moments in rapid succession and then come back later to frame individual snapshots from them.

Myself, I love the new snapshop thing. I've never had such clear snapshots, the interface is very easy to figure out....Great work LL!

While there is some use to a lot of the new features, taking quick snapshots is a pain now. It was far better as a default to have a little preview window and be able to do several quick shots to try to capture the moment right. If you are trying to capture an animated scene at just the right moment, it's much harder now since once you enter the the snapshot mode you are no longer seeing the scene in real time.
Please bring back the preview window so we can watch in real time what is happening while we are clicking snapshots.

I used it for the first time properly last night for some photographs for the newspaper I work for. Really worked quite well HOWEVER I would prefer the new options to be in edit-preferences with the old interface for the actual screen capture. Something needed doing (sure to hires crashing regularly) and it's actually quite nice what they've done. Just needs the edges sanding down.
