I'm so tempted to tier up and you're not helping! :D

... and think of all the money you can save on gas and other travel expenses by just staying in SL! :D

To answer the Original Posters question, consider these points :

1) Frequent updates that either break something that wasn't broken or just add bit more shininess and cater to the most vocal protest group of the moment.

2) Failure to deliver on features that would improve the experience for everybody and not just a select few.

3) Inability to "police" their own TOS properly and protect the average resident from griefing and scams by enforcing penalties of more than a slap on the wrist (trip to cornfield)

4) Crappy lag inducing file protocols

My own humble opinion, admitedly not even worth 1L$ is that the answer has to be a resounding yes.

Roll on the future and with it the hope that SL's leadership catch a dose of "Let's do it right, let's do it well."

Why are you still here, then?

(which ain't to imply I can't see the flaws in how LL runs things; we got a full taste of it when Squidsoft Collective looked into buying an island from another person. And I expect most people wouldn't complain if they didn't have a wish to see things done better. But damn, if you dislike what's being done that much, vote with your wallet and eyeballs.)

Because I see what it can be, and hope it will become.

I'd just rather they fixed the broken features and made good on the overdue promises to add features such as, for example *laugh* Havok 2, rather than the "oh let's add a little twiddly knob here" attitude to upgrades. Oh and the self-evident unsatisfactory testing they do of the "upgrades" that frequently results in rushed out patches to fix those same upgrades.

That said, it's still the best game in town :¬)

There are. Stick to your guns and ride out the storm with the forum fanboyz dictating what they think you should say. Or Write a letter directly to LL voicing your concerns. Or Call LL and voice your concerns. Or Start a blog where you are able to give your real opinions without some douche bag insulting the hell out of you. Or Money talks scale back.

:)

There certainly are. I'm not saying don't complain, I'm saying you sound like the old joke about "this food is terrible! - and the portions so small!"

I honestly can't figure out why half the gripers continue to stick around at all, other than "lack of alternative". But even that won't necessarily be much of a help - on the mainstream MMOG front, there's a significant contingent who played EQ, got angry at SOE, jumped ship to the next MMOG to come along... and were just as miserable; some of them even went back to the original game.

In other words, is Second Life really what some people want, or is it something with one or two particular features and the rest bent to their wants?

I learned years ago that there's no way to compete with what someone only has to imagine that they could accomplish in your place.

Heres my question..

why does LL ignore the majority of its forumgoers on the resmod program?

why do they keep doing untested updates?

why would they bring a sim down twice in 30 minutes and not get to the cause?

Yes, LL seems incompetent
