Your estate manager can already do the same thing. There is no privacy in SL, and never will be.
Cam detatchment is a great tool for builders and club/store managers.

Lame yes, but if you want a closed sl why not just get a 3D rendering program?
why be online and completely ban every connection for "privacy"
it like having a webpage no one can see?
if you really want that get an island, maybe SL needs smaller island options...
then you can control your land with out bothering everyone else
sorry im probably way off topic :)

Nah your kinda right, if that is someones issue. Sometimes a person just want's a little alone time to work on a build, or put some clothes together, or even the hankypanky with someone. I'm not judging.. :p The deal is there needs to be some way to do this without leaving SL. I'm a visionary person. I think outside the box. Why put up with how things are now, when we could make it better? Why continue to go with the flow when you could move the river? You get where i'm going with this right?

If you own land, can't you just turn on access restrictions?

But friends still see you online, others just pass by and talk, and that can make it hard to concentrate on what you are doing. Also, not relevant to this discussion, no way to backup your product. I have now had two parse failures trying to rez items from my inventory.

Do what my friends do and tell them you want some privacy for the night. It's not hard, and most will agree.

All this has been discussed a million times hehe. i own 7 security orbs around my sim, and have them active to eject specificly banned people. Since this sim is joined with other furry sims and is public, i cannot hide it. I personally have a whole arsenal of banning methods. I'm not thinking of myself, i'm thinking of the less fortunate, like those who only own 512 first land and such.

It would be very nice if we had a way to build things (and texture, and script, and whatever) for SL with the SL tools without having to be connected to the grid at the time. Maybe the people who made God Mode can figure something out... (hint, hint)

If anyone can tell me where i can get a 3D rendering program fully ready to use almost like SL then il do it... As long as it doesnt cost hundreds of dollars. When i do it, id probably rival with them. XD

The deal is i'm not a programming wizz. i only know minor stuff like BASIC, LSL, and a few similer languages.

Zoe if they "customer" is porting to you and being a turd, then you have the right to ban them even if it pisses them off. Once they IM you and ask the reason tell them you used a exploit to map/stalk me and I didnt appreciate it, so therefore I used my ability to bar you from here until you realized the wrong you did and appoligize. If that doesnt work, and they attempt to smear your goood name AR them for slander.

thats like being stabbed and saying "its ok, ill just stitch the wound up after and clean the blood off, i'll be fine!"

prims.blender is working. The importer, however, is not. There's a secondsuite plugin that's being worked on to import from prims.blender to second life, but it evidently bungles rotations >.<

One way you could get some privacy would be to rig a "secret identity". I don't know how you could transfer model origin, but scripts could just be cut-n-pasted from the original made under your alt to the new intepreter window under your main.

Actually...you could possibly keep a "toolkit" of prims laying around, all originally rezzed by your main, with full permissions. Pull them from inventory, modify them as needed, and plug them together under your alt.
Might work. I don't know that it would.

you'd want to do that backwards. Keep a toolkit under your alt, make the object, have the alt make them full perms and transfer finished product to main acct, the main changes the perms to the ones for eventual sale, adds one prim of their own creation and links the whole thing together again with their prim as root prim. Main will show as creator of the object then, might show as "nobody" in inventory though.

edits - ah, I see... yeah toolkit of objects originally made by main under alt acct is a good idea, full perms, that way the entire thing looks right in inventory later. I've been doing such things for a while now, just lazy and letting the alt design objects. Should rethink that hehe. :) I still would keep object toolkit in inventory rather than leave them lying about.
