I could give a hoot for God Mode except for the fact that it disabled the cam limits and selection distance limits. I never realized what a PITA it was to stop, wait for your lag to quit as you refocused, fly ahead 20m so you could reach the next part of your build, and start again. Ditto for when you're laying out an island project and everyone has to fly over to the area you're discussing to see what you're talking about.
I'm on a private island right now where I have estate rights, and the estate cam function works somewhat, but I'm still rubberbanding back to a closer view when I try to grab and cam to the far side of the island. PLEASE bring these back, even if its only for estate owners. They're an invaluable building assistant for large scale builds and terraforming. _____________________

Long live God Mode.
A libsecondlife developer has provided a free and open source version that works on ANY OS (that Mono supports: Win, Mac, Linux). It does require a bit of technical knowledge to get running, however, it works post-update. _____________________

Did Jesus ever go back and clean up those footprints he left? Beach Authority had to spend precious manpower. Japanese Jesus, where are you? Pragmatic! |

i have to say you programmers that are finding the hacks and makign god mode and stuff are really lieing down on the job.. All the God modes i know of in games at least i get unlimited amount of money.. thanx for doing something silly instead -.-

It wasn't disabled by LL, just a minor change in networking systems broke it.
Work is currently underway on the upgrade, free to all purchasers of the original software. _____________________

I'm a bit bummed about God Mode disappearing, as the unrestrained camera distance was the best SL tool to come around in a while. It really made work on Help Island a lot easier in that I could scan the entire island effortlessly for new residents to greet, observe those who might be having some difficulty, and keep an eye on potential troublemakers.
