From: Wrom Morrison Gangsters then, if not it's probably an age-player.
Did you get his name?
You should file an AR on him with all the detail. No I didnt get his name after things like that you always feel like you need a shower to wash away the grunge. I dont know if there is anything the would Cache that after you log off but leaving was my priority at the time.

Gah, Alice that sucks. However, they do seem to pay attention to WA newbie attacks or at least they did when I sent an AR that first day. But that was before open registration, just a week prior, in fact.

Besides I have a new way of handling it.. Mute and scoot! (teleport away)

From: Suzanna Soyinka I think they need a consultant. I volunteer to be the consultant. I can charge high fees and not do anything constructive

From: Robin Laffer 4 hours downtime for minor bug fixes, and putting a system back that was already in place a month ago, me thinks some are doing 20 minute job, and then playing tringo for the remaining three hours Realistically it's probably a fair amount of work but I don't see why the majority of updates we have can't be dealt with through an autoupdater built into the client (As is standard for MMOs) and rolling restarts. Depends on the patch though, some would require changes to crucial systems so a rolling restart wouldn't be practical.

I don't see how anybody can be "raped" in SL...correct me if I'm wrong please but if somebody is doing lewd acts to your avatar teleporting out is an option so there is no "danger" of anything happening aside from what the poster described as a dirty feeling.
If somebody is acting inappropriately teleporting out and putting that person on mute is the proper action and then ARing them would be the next step.
Sometimes you can see the jokers looking to grief a mile off.......

Don't overlook the time it takes to think to react while the idiot is emoting his perverted fantasies or pestering you in IMs. I've said this when I was in other chat rooms and it applies to SL too -- guys should have to make a female character for a couple of hours just to see what it's like sometimes. Bring your thick skin because you'll need it. Also, in some cases the female might be a RL abuse survivor. I'm not (this kind of thing doesn't bother me really, I deal with it all the time) but I've known quite a few and it can really cause horrible emotional reactions in the victim. With them it's much more than a matter of "getting over it", it's a spiritual wound that may never really heal for them. What to you and I may be only words are, to them, a reawakening of nightmarish memories. From: someone If somebody is acting inappropriately teleporting out and putting that person on mute is the proper action and then ARing them would be the next step. Yep, though sadly most of the new residents I've met lately don't even know what an AR is. They do after my quick-and-dirty tutorial, though, which includes "how to copy/paste chat logs into your report" and "how to mute". From: someone Sometimes you can see the jokers looking to grief a mile off....... Sometimes - and more so if you have some experience at it. So far all of my experiences in SL give me about an 80% success rate on spotting problem residents. That last 20% always shows me I need to be careful about judging people before they demonstrate their character.

Sometimes you can see the jokers looking to grief a mile off....... I am sure you have the correct classification for it, I don’t know what to say about that. However he was clearly trying to get a sexual act performed through intimidation and threats of violence, and when I didn’t do it I got shot. I now know what to do about it, but I think even you would have been taken by surprise if you were in that situation. (and what he demanded was doable by two males) I would like to know what you would classify it as?

Yep, looks like the same PvP Abuse window as we had already, just that it doesn't pop up anymore when you get hit/bumped/pushed (which was what I suggested weeks ago instead of removing it! ). The massive glut of extraneous ARs was due to it popping up, not simply its existence. Also, it does detect pushes, as it would pop up for people when they played with my push toys. Anyway, I am glad we have that critical and necessary abuse detection tool back in our arsenal!
