Following this, will spread the word--they are getting crowded!

And I'm a big fan of sandboxes!

I don't think so, but what would be the point? Dwell for a business puts it higher on the Find listing, potentially generating more business. Dwell for a sandbox puts it higher on the Find listing, generating... what, exactly?

Yes, sorry, that's what meant, the DI system is based on dwell for the time being. that'll end March 31st.

I want not only more sandboxes but bigger ones. So I don't always have to build 500 meters in the air just becuz the ground is all cluttered up. Sandboxes that are no scripts and no physics would be nice too if that's possible.

So yes, more sandboxes ... and cowbell.

Sandboxes should be double-primmed.

daily dwell creates some daily income.

Dwell is indeed dead.

No dwell=lower inflation, fewer camping chairs/dance pads, fewer generic/sex clubs...and more people setting their land to ban absolutely everyone.

It's the last one that's unfortunate.

While I have noticed that the sandboxes always seem to be crowded when I go there, I solve the prob by thinking three dimensional.

I just rez a platform and go up to say 350 meters or so and build in peace. Problem solved.

I usually leave it up there when I am done so others can make use of it. Seems like it won't be in the way that high up.

What if there was faster auto-return for unattended builds? When someone leaves a parcel the sim could track their absence and return their stuff if they don't come back within the fast auto-return window. The fast auto-return window could be set much shorter than the regular auto-return window without being annoying to considerate residents.

Yes we need more sandboxes, i used to use them a lot. Also loved exploring them. I even remember seeing Cory doing one of her first builds there. You could see that she was talented, and look where she is now. All because of sandboxes. :)

I love the developer island I live on. It's only like 14 plots and a giant sandbox divided into 4 areas in the middle of it. I <3 my geeky neighbors. They inspire me daily with what they create. :D

I used to go to sandboxes more than I do now - the constant sim crashes, griefer shooting, and crowded conditions are rough. I still go, but not unless I have to - and I LOVE sandboxes :-(

Yeah this would be a good idea to clear stuff of people that are not present in the sandbox. Maybe something like: all items will be deleted in 1 hour if you are not present in the sandbox.

Also I cant even count the number of times someone has dropped some giant building right on me and my very small work space in a corner :(

This would be so great. I think we all have spent time in the sandboxes at one point or another. I think I'd be more apt go start going back if there were more room. Another 3 under the mains would make most sense to me.

I've had an idea rolling around in my empty head for quite some time.

What I hate about sandboxes is that they tend to attract kids or just bored people looking for a chat. Chatting is nice, but sometimes we just want to build! So I wondered if it would be a good idea if somebody opened up a 'Pay to Enter' sandbox, where we could buy a pass (maybe L$250?) to enter and then we could hopefully build away in peace. Nobody would pay to enter a sandbox just to annoy people. Would they?

There are people who pay $10-$20 a month to play an MMOG and grief.

Most of the time there is enough space at one sandbox or another, but the problem is as more people signs in... even now, the script sandboxes get really crowded for the united states timezones. There are several small resident-owned public sandboxes, but they get traffic too.

So you all should really vote for one of the "more sandboxes" proposals on the Feature Voting page, to get the Lindens moving on this :)

They are building a new Welcome Area in the southern continent, with a lot of empty sims around. We could get two or three of them as sandboxes, even a water sandbox on the coast, yay! :D

its weird my private sandbox (in livigno) is always amost empty but its prolly not the pirmcount (>8000) but i guess peoples don't like the size (4096 sqm)

i think more sandbox ain't the solution. to me they should be reserved to newbies, more than 2 months old you are old enough in sl to decide if you want to invest or not

Not that it's a longterm solution, but here/now/today/the present I flattened out those sloping hills in Sandbox Cordova+Goguen+Newcomb because they were eating too much space at the edges. Goguen<--->Newcomb still have a divider, as the latter is no-script. But it should give s'more building room and make the most of what we have.

I notice a lot of private sandboxes have an autoreturn time set since they can't do the "regular Linden wipe" thing.

So you're the one who did that? Thank you very much. The old borders around C&G were really strange.

'specially the Cordova ones, as they were set to no-build.

So does the fact that you left the borders on the south completely open signify that there are going to be more sandboxen soon? I really need more places to put this, and fast.

Nice to see you here, Hobo. =]

And you're most graciously welcome, and I totally know what you mean. It has historical precedent: back in the old days, where games of "physical towers" were played and, well, stuff would get dunked from one region and collide into homes in the next. :O I was not there for that... I only know those mythical tales.

And alas I cannot confirm we'll have more sandboxen (love that plural). I don't have any news on that, but if there is any, I as usual will say it very vocally. :)
