I was just wondering about your Avie's. Do you look or act just like "you" in rl, or are you sooooo NOT like yourself is in rl? Ok.....I guess I'm a mixture of both. My Avie looks like somewhat of a hoochie and pretty much says what's on her mind. Me in rl am a "little" more quiet, but fairly "bubbly" I guess you'd say. My Avie has a body like I would if I was rich lol, and my avie dresses like I'd love to dress (sometimes) but I have teenage boys I have to think about lol. Although if my husband and I are out of town, esp. at a motorcycle rally.......now that's a different story lol (I really do keep my clothing ON at those events even tho some don't!!)
So....are you just like your Avie or soooo not?!?

Not. I have fewer animations in my RL AO, and the slider for my RL butt goes to 11.

My av is as close to my RL self as I could get it without buying hair/skin/etc and not spending more than a few hours at a time on it. Well, the 2m invisi-dong I wear is matched to a "t" (to scale).

Look like? Definitely not. I'm neither Irish or that big and I still find my avie too tall but am too lazy to adjust it because the cyber right arm is very hard to custom fit.

Act like? Definitely yes. The only exception is the absence of light cussing that I would use only around my close friends. However, you won't catch me cussing in-world even if my friends were there. I also won't be revealing any more private details than that I've already done on the boards.

Well someone told me my av looks a little like me, but it wasn't intentional. I just made whatever I thought looked best.
I also don't have color-changing hair (though I wish I did).
And I am a goof-ball in RL, just the same as in SL.

I made my AV as close to my rl self as I could... also made my wife's and son's AV's as close to their rl selves as possible.

Nope.

Most of my avatars are furry. The last time I looked, my Player didn't have a fur or a tail, other than the fake-fur foxtail hanging in the closet, that is reserved as convention costuming. And I play both genders, so obviously at least part of the time, that certainly doesn't match.

As far as how I act... Creative, sociable to a degree (likes small gattherings of friends, dislikes huge crowds), articulate, polite... yes, that is 'me'. Some 'social behaviors' while interacting with close friends... no, those are roleplay games, for the amusement and entertainment of those involved.

I do have one avatar that I have made that is as close in appearance to my RL self as I can manage with the resources I have found in SL so far. I did it mostly to see if I could. But... I hardly ever use that one. If I just want to be 'me', I'll log off and walk out into the real world, and do it first hand.

In general, Appearance - not at all; Behaviors - yes, with some exceptions.

My AV now has better clothes than me though, I think he's been dipping into my money when I'm off line.

I've never had any interest in making my av look like myself. If I want to see me, I've got plenty of mirrors. I don't need SL for that.

If I want other people to see me, I've got pictures, or I can go meet them in RL. That's not what SL is for.

In fact, I don't even consider the avatar to be "me". It's just a tool I use to interact with SL. What it looks like has no bearing on that function. My only concern with my av's appearance is that it be something I enjoy looking at, since it's the only thing that's always onscreen, no matter where I go. Hence, I made it look like Seven of Nine, which is just about my favorite thing to look at in the whole wide world (well, one of my favorites, anyway).

As for what I say, what I do, and how I act in SL, that's all me. The av may be the tool by which I deliver text to the screen, but what the text says is all mine.

Giving me ideas. I've been thinking about changing my default casual attire iRL. I think I'll make myself a me-avie so I can try stuff out.

SL: 8 foot tall orc a-la Shadowrun (think of Kham from the books, a bit tweaked tho), three head horns, nose ring, funky scar down the middle of my face, personalized D.D. shirt.

RL: 6'2" 270 pound lardbellied geek who hasn't shaved since winter, wears glasses thick enough to fry ants with on a sunny day, and Goliath-style feet often referred to as the U.S.S. Constitution and U.S.S. Nimitz. Now add tan cutoff shorts, a green button up shirt, and sneakers I've owned since '03 (hey I keep em clean, don't grimace).

In SL: I'm a tall, thin walking corpse. Heh! I love zombies!!

In RL: I'm 5'1" & 95-98 lbs. Still quite pale though!

Anyone got some extra pounds they'd like to donate??? I'd like to reach 100 lbs before 40.
