Again: go talk to the neighbor. Find out what he wants. See if he'll set his walls transparent on your side, or will buy you out at a fair price. A real man talks things out before fighting. Only an idiot "takes revenge" and gets himself in trouble for it.

You still have a perfectly good option of your own: put up privacy walls with your own textures. I have a nice view of trees and mountains covering up the casinos and strip-malls and land extortionists that filled once-pristine land behind me. No big deal.

As for LL getting involved, that's asinine. He's only building on HIS land. HE owns it, not you. Everyone owns their land and can do with it as they please. It is wrong to impose your will on others, and that's what you're trying to do: control his use of his own land. If he's deliberately doing this just to harm you--which you have no idea is true or false, you've just made that up and slandered him so far--then, possibly, you have justification to abuse-report him.

Perhaps a device that creates tiny physical tori that roll down a chute. Have each tori sending messages on channel 0 while emiting a partical shower. Each tori should play a loud sound and be made of light. Don't forget the high rez textures!

I think your posts in this thread demonstrate a very good example of why your neighbor put the wall up. If you were my neighbor and exhibited the attitude that you have here, I'd put a wall up, too.

What did you do initially that caused him to put the wall up in the first place? Most people don't take action of this nature unless something provokes it. Come clean here. It's good for the soul.

I don't know anything about the conversations you guys have had, but I just went there and the wall around the property really sucks. This is a clear demonstration of someone taking full advantage of "build what you want on your land and fuck everyone else."

** However, I must add that I have to wonder if Frikken did anything to provoke his neighbor. The wall is, as AJ pointed out, really damn high. That's a LOT of prims being used up just to spite someone.

I can see where you'd get that. Cuz, yes right now I am peeved and flying off the cuff.

And here's my come clean;

I built my first property. It wasn't great by any means, but it looked like a structure and it was textured and for a 1st attempt for someone whose 3d experience is limited to things like Swift and Bryce, it wasn't bad. I had a deck, windows, working stain glass doors. Overall though it was simple, and most people would probably rate it a 3-4 out of 10, but it wasn't an eyesore.

When I got the property, it was all smaller properties around me. Behind me was some guy with ads so I made my back wall solid brick. I hated doing that but they were animated and annoying.

Then my RL job got extremely busy. I wasn't able to get on SL for a month.

I get back from out of town to find the properties around me on three sides are all combined and my house is walled in like a shipping container. I haven't been here to do anything to them.

I finally get to talk to this person tonight. Insults me and then builds the walls higher.

The person wants to screw me for the purpose of getting my property. I'll just get a refund from LL and be done with this place. All I really want before I go is to make certain this human turd doesn't ever get this land.

Like I said, give me a couple of days, maybe 'til the end of the week, I might be able to help.

And, BTW, there's little to no chance LL will give you a refund.

Make a deal with the guy. He takes the walls down and you remove your lag inducing scripted objects.

You could try to have the person selected as a candidate for the position of forum resident monitor, although that might be seen as an example of cruel and unusual punishment.

In case no one else has said it, if a neighbor walls / bans you on 50%+ more of your property, it's Abuse Reportable.

Ask nicely for them to remove it, give the person a day, and if it's still not down, AR him/her.

See if I had just known that, I wouldn't have gotten my panties all in a bunch.

Apparently he's aware of the policy too because the walls are gone.

It's nice to know it isn't total anarchy in SL. Other people should know about this rule.

They're not messing with _you_, just with your view/access to/across _their_ property, to which you have no right, though generally neighbors will behave "neighborly" when they are treated with common courtesy and respect. Ignoring polite and reasonable requests and genreally behaving like an asshole can provoke your neighbors into banning you from their property. As you do not mention whether or not they have banned you from their property, and flying in SL removes the need for walls, it appears they're trying to block the view one way or the other (their view of your property or your view of theirs).

As they apparently own most of the land surrounding you, it would seem pointless to put up a wall to block the view of such a small space unless whatever you have on it is so tacky they can't stand looking at it.

Generally, as happens in FL sims, the original FL plots are consolidated into larger plots by the original owners selling to neighbors who want more land (and prims for their builds) and/or groups who want to buy up multiple lots in the same sim so they can put a prim-hungry business up (like a big shop, club, or casino).

Mayhap the neighbor wanted to consolidate the lots he already had, in order to build something fairly large, and needed Frikken's lot to "fill it in"; Frikken, given the attitude he's shown in this thread, was apparently rude to the neighbor in the way he said NO, and put up something on his land specifically to irritate his neighbor which has since disappeared... as I said earlier, just banning someone who acts like a jerk from crossing your land is generally sufficient, so the only real explanation for the wall is whatever was blocked from view. Frikken, in order to look more innocent in the matter than he really is, seems to have removed whatever it was.

Took alook at the plot. Frikken has banned all avatars, including his neighbour specifically and all I see on frikken's land is a huge plywood cylinder.

People sometimes sell thier huge plots at a high price either in wishful thinking or to get into the search.
