So I get my 1st land and some p**** comes and builds three walls around my property. I'm taking suggestions on how to get even.
If SL is going to allow this person to mess with me, I should be allow to do the same, no?

If it's not on your property, there's nothing you can do.

Did you ask them why they did it and if they can maybe make it transparent on the side facing you? Don't retaliate and stoop the their level if they are just being asses. You don't want to get into trouble so soon, do you? |

Don't try to "get even." First try talking you your neighbor. If this person seems to be harassing you or deliberatly boxing you in, use an abuse report; however, unless he is actually blocking access to your land or his build is over the border onto your land, you may be stuck. This is very frustrating, I know, but trying to get even will just make the problem worse.

I really don't care what kind of trouble I get in. If LL doesn't want my business I could care less. I shoud be refunded though. I didn't sign up for membership for this BS.
I know I can't do anything about the walls, but what can I do on my property that will annoy the heck out of him? where's that bush sign guy???? |

when i bought first land there was no promises of pristine landscapes, perfect views, no neighbors, 0 active scrpts ect
just a 512 plot with 117 prims and media acess, and the fact that i could put anything i wanted to as long as it didnt conflict with the TOS or the land rating. i find this post and one in the feature feedback (about i bought a computer with a lame video card) totally amazing, do you ppl just not look into what your spending money on? before i bought i visited many first land areas, and fully understood that they are usually a cluster fk. |

You could build above the walls, there's plenty of things to do that don't have to be directly on the ground.
Initially I was kinda annoyed when one of my neighbours built a wall right up against my property but I quite like it now I've realised I can gaffiti on it and stick stuff to it without having to use my prim alowance to make my own upright. ![]() |

.... i find this post and one in the feature feedback (about i bought a computer with a lame video card) totally amazing, do you ppl just not look into what your spending money on? before i bought i visited many first land areas, and fully understood that they are usually a cluster fk. I have the equivalent of a 'spite fence' around most of my property. I'm not expecting RL justice but LL should have preventions for this. I'm only a month in into this, and if this is 'a just deal with it' situation, well, no I don't agree. I don't have to give LL a dime and I can say what I want (elsewhere, of course) and I can say goodbye to a truly cr***y experience I'll gladly share with anyone. win/win. What I expect when I pay LL is to have my rights as a customer protected. If this 1st land was free, I would not have a single complaint. If it was a wall to a building even, I could understand but this is built specifically to screw me. Thanks LL. So long everybody, I guess. |

You know, there's plenty of landlords who'd gladly rent you some land where this wouldn't happen (or at least, if it did the landlord would deal with it). It's possible it'd be cheaper than renting from LL too.

Well, if you haven't already left, you should try talking to your neighbor and asking if they're willing to move the walls back from the property line a bit. If they aren't, then you could see if they are willing to put a texture of your choosing on the surface of the walls that faces your land (I had this experience and successfully had a neighbor put up a "bamboo forest" on my side of the walls.)
It is frustrating when our neighbors' vision isn't the same as ours, but a friendly chat may solve the problem and could earn you a great new friend -- you just never know. All best |

Yeah. Your neighbor isn't going to have the same design idea as you.
That's one of the problems with complete creative freedom. Solution = don't buy land/buy alot of land |

Retaliation = bad

Hi Frikken, hope you're still here!
It's a mighty pain in the backside when someone does this, same happened to me on my first land. I got surrounded on three sides by a neighbour building a massive waterfall! Completely swamped my build. If you haven't spoken to your neighbour yet that should really be your next move. Mine was sensible about restricting sounds that were bugging me on my land (sounded like I was in the middle of a river, had to p every ten mins the sound was on!) Your best bet might be to ask if he's interested in buying your land. That's the option I chose. I had to move but I found a much better place down by the waterside and I made L$3000 on the deal! There's plenty of land available on the mainland and others have mentioned the option of renting on a zoned sim where there are more controls. But don't retaliate. In my experience it only makes the situation worse. Take some xanax/ have a cup of tea/ meditate for ten mins then try talking to the guy. Good luck! |

I have a novel idea when it comes to people like this boxing you in beside their property..
If talking doesn't work, sell it to the the impeach bush guy if its first land. You'll make a profit -and- annoy him within the TOS. Plus, you can move beside mor ehospitable neighbours. |

Depending on what the walls are for.....are they part of a building or what? If they are just walls to block the owner from others ask him/her to make the sides facing you transparent. That way they have the walls for what ever reason they wont them and you wont see them from your side...... Just a thought

Depending on what the walls are for.....are they part of a building or what? See for yourself: ![]() When I did buy this lot it was surrounded by other small lots, like me. I've seen plenty of areas turned to cluster****s, and again, if this was a structure wall, I might feel differenly. Instead this wimp does this passive aggressive BS. Just shows how low and pathetic some people can be. And maybe it's not how the rules are but LL shouldn't allow it, IMO. I'll sell the property to the impeach bush guy at cost in a second, as long as they'd sincerely promise never to sell to my neighbor. |

Sounds like he wants you to sell your land to him for more than you bought it for, of course, so he can resell it for a MUCH higher price. My advice, ignore the asshat, put a nice garden down on the ground (or not) and then build in the sky... _____________________

yeah. escalation / retaliation = bad idea

Take it from someone who has suffered through a suspension and the loss of friends that retaliation can bring. Resist the urge to retaliate.
