That's right! Heinlein put women on a pedestal! Where he then pictured them naked and assessed every cut like a butcher in a feedlot!

Oh god, you're right. I totally forgot about his extensive depictions of proper gender roles in The Moon of a Harsh Mistress, To Sail Beyond the Consensual, and even his young adult novel Gay Bejeweled Nazi Bikers of Mars!

What does being a partner get you in SL? Seriously.

Can you get half the stipend if you divorce?

Or on a more serious note does it help with permission problems and sharing?

Or is it simply symbolic?

just wondering. I can't even get my wife to try SL, so it's all beans to me. :p

I guess I don't know what partnering does beyond being symbolic, Shack, just seemed like the right thing to bring up in light of all the usual complaint threads! Why not pile on! :)

If we wanted real change "Friends" would become contacts, and we could mark them as Friend, Best Friend, Idol, Acquaintance, Nuisance, Enemy, or Arch-Nemesis and mark a certain number available for on-line notification.

So instead of "Clubside Granville in online" you'd see, "Your Arch-Nemesis Clubside Granville is online". And then let the seething start!

And then you could map me and demand I rez some pants. Fat lotta good that'll do ya!

Why is there no poll option to keep things just the way they are right now?

Just got back from the 1.12 Preview. Still no support for polygamists! And they're calling for a pile-on! Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?

Actually, Heinlein wrote about serial families, like the Long Family. Multiple wives, multiple husbands, to ensure a steady supply of capital for the raising of children.

And hopefully, nobody sleeps alone. <g>
