What's up with that, anyway? All this talk of furries, Goreans, age-players, tinies, anime fanboys, yet not once... Polygamists! I mean is Linden Lab trying to socially engineer a monogamous society! Egads! We have partner support, but how can that possibly be enough? How are we to choose just one? This system does use a relational database, right? It's time to "open" up this system, and shout from 0m to 768m that we won't just settle for one partner! Be damned UI updates! Screw your time dilation? Who cares aout griefers and unverifieds and the underaged? This will not stand!

With this much support I expect to see all these features on the Preview Grid by tonight! "More beans, Mr. Taggert?" "I think you boys have had enough!"

After seeing Big Love, I'm not sure I could handle that. Jennyfur's already too much woman for me! I love the scene where he's seeing the doctor who asks him how often he's taking viagra... "Oh, I take one or two." "Per week? Per month?" "Nah, per day!" hehehe, -Flip

From: Wrom Morrison #include <Heinlein quote here> "Marriage is a psychological condition, not a civil contract and a license. Once a marriage is dead, it is dead, and it begins to stink even faster than a dead fish." Or, with no real tie to the topic... "'Statutory rape' is carnal knowledge of a statue... although why anyone should care, I have never understood. "

"'Statutory rape' is carnal knowledge of a statue... although why anyone should care, I have never understood. " Heinlein mostly advocated polyandry. The concept of one woman having mutiple husbands. And also the concept of communal marriage, multiple husbands and wives... just like the Goreans.

"'Statutory rape' is carnal knowledge of a statue... although why anyone should care, I have never understood. " Are those Heinlein? I collect his quotes but haven't heard either of those. Where are they from? Every so often some idiot tries to a abolish marriage. Such attempts work as well as repealing the law of gravity, making pi equal to three point zero, or moving mountains by prayer. Marriage is not something thought up by priests and inflicted on mankind; marriages is as much a part of mankind's evolutionary equipment as his eyes, and as useful to the race as eyes are to an individual. Surely, marriage is an economic contract to provide for children and to take care of mothers while they bear kids, and bring them up - but it is much more than that. It is the means this animal, Homo Sap, had evolved - quite unconsciously - for performing this indispensable function and be happy while doing so. It is impossible for a man to love his wife wholeheartedly without loving all women somewhat. I suppose that the converse must be true of a woman.

*tries to defend his home state of Utah* It isn't that bad! Not usually anyway. There are things I don't like, but there is very little Polygamy in Mormans. It is the Reformed LDS you should be talking to.
Ok, I am through. Just felt like defending home state. Yeah, I know. I didn't do a good job. Tough. LOL

I practice polyamory
I don't like poligamist style relationships, but I respect those who do it.
Hell, I have 4 people who I'm in relationships in. I just don't know how to use the who partner system thing, and I kinda don't want to.
Why not list your partners in your profile?

Either I'm confused and supposed to be laughing at your sarcasm, or you're confused and are confusing Heinlein with another writer. You got the first part right but the second part dead wrong. Voted white women at.

From: Marla Truss Are those Heinlein? I collect his quotes but haven't heard either of those. Where are they from? First one, the marriage one, is from "To Sail Beyond the Sunset" Second one is from "The Cat who Walks Through Walls" -- my personal favorite. Another fun quote from TCwWTW -- "I can be shot -- I have been shot, more than once -- but I can't be shot by anyone who thinks that just pointing a gun at me has changed the odds." Oh, and "Beating her husband to death is every married woman's privilege... as long as she does it in private."

That's right! Heinlein put women on a pedestal! Where he then pictured them naked and assessed every cut like a butcher in a feedlot!
