Who matters in SL now? - New GRAPHICA

hey all,

after a long break I have returned to SL and will be working on another issue of GRAPHICA. So since I am somewhat out of the loop on SL culture and hoopla - I need to know who I should be interviewing for this issue?

Last time we did Philip Linden, Neph Protagonist and Francis Chung, and it turned out great - was popular enough and interested folks.

Who's the latest bad-boy/girl? Who's making waves? Who's doing something cool, interesting or philanthropic?

Feel free to nominate some people for me and get the ball rolling. If this is in the wrong area I apologize, but I figured it covered so many categories there was no where else suitable for it...

Unfortunately the list is currently the top 10-6. The top 5 have yet to be named, so you may want to wait until Mr. Au completes the story to get some names.

All you have to do is look at Pol to get a sense of his star power. If you could bottle up that kind of charisma, we'd all be celebrities.

Hey, look, I totally influenced teh Aimes! That must mean eiether I'm SIC and don't know it or it's a ruse to lure me into a false sense of security and I'm gonna wake up with Pony Linden's head in my bed tomorrow.

I don't think I'm gonna be able to sleep tonight from the fear.

Well until the Aimee Weber Visitor Center is complete (inspired by the movies Hostel and Saw) I'm letting stuff slide.

I've been around for only 6 or so months and the only person I know of in SL is Ashe because the name is spamed in every corner.
Not that it's a bad thing.
I dunno of many others and haven't heard of anyone except the top lindens.

But one guy stands out in my mind. YadNi.
He's helped me out a bit and I think most know of his Junkyard.

Phew, that's a relief.

It's a good thing--what with the chainsaws and the coitus in the other thread . . .

Are you asking who matters, or who the prom king and queen is this month? They're rarely, if ever, the same thing.

I'll tell you who matters to me, though I don't expect to ever see them interviewed because it doesn't sell copy...

Builders that come up with something new and innovative, which makes me dust off my Edit tools to see how it was done, or how something else could be improved by their techniques.

Scriptors that take our lifeless objects and make them do something interactive and creative, something we haven't seen before.

Animators that give our creations the breath of life so seamlessly that it doesn't even occur to us that that's not a normal sit pose.

But the people who matter the most to me, (without getting too PollyAnna) are the new residents who seem excited about SL and ask lots of questions, which makes me view SL through their eyes again, and gets me excited about all this again. (It's like when my nephew comes to visit Vegas and it suddenly occurs to me, "This place is bad-ass, and I live here!"

If you want to interview people who matter, then interview the people who have been in world a week or less, and get their persepctive on the world and the creations in it, on what they'd like to see, what they think is silly, and ask them who they think matters.

Shouldn't that be prim king and queen?
