From: Buxton Malaprop merely display if you've successfully completed *a* real-world financial transaction with Linden Labs in your account's history. This would (I expect, hope, presume, etc.) include simply purchasing some L$ on Lindex. If you couldn't conjour up a CC or Paypal account for the sign-up process before, how the hell are you going to buy cash on the Lindex now your in for free?

From: Buxton Malaprop Argent: If I'm doing my mindreading trick right, this new field/icon/hamster isn't "Basic" vs "Premium" - it would (I hope, and expect, and believe based on what we've been told) merely display if you've successfully completed *a* real-world financial transaction with Linden Labs in your account's history. This would (I expect, hope, presume, etc.) include simply purchasing some L$ on Lindex So for all the scammers and free accounts out there it easy to see who to hit up for money.

I would be highly interested to hear Philip's response to this question. A very good point. Only goes to prove the fallacy of the decision, if you need a credit card to do anything in-world, why not just save people the bother and ask them at sign up. Lewis

hi, im a newcomer , created my account on SL 1-2 hrs ago. I hope my post will be usefull to the SL residents. I dont wanna rant, whine, flame, w/e. This is my long-short SL story : iv heard about SL from a m8 in another game. From what he told me, SL seemed to be much much better than the one we were playing. Iv tryied to create an account few weeks ago, but that CC infos requirement doesnt fit very well to my opinion about security . Ok. Today iv created the account, AND iv decided to give it a try , afterall i can use for SL the internet-use Visa card i have , in wich i never transfer more money that im prepared to lose-i mean from my bank account to the net-use card. But then i had a problem. I dont know why, my card is ok, is no doubt about this, at least for me, but the SL reject my infos. Anyways, my account was created , iv already met a nice avatar , a very helpfull one who spent a lot of his time teaching me the basics. But i come to SL from another MMORPG, and my willing to quit that game was determined for the same issues i now see SL have : yes the community seems to be mature and great, but the lack of security and the fact that LL seems to do the same wrong steps the other MMORPG did , makes me thik twice before to continue my SL adventures . Im very sure i dont wanna waste my time and risk my money in a game where i cannot know who-who is. Im already sick of teen a*** es and of scammers and cheaters and rude ppls., from the other game. The worst thig there was the fact that the owners of the game have the habit to ignore their own EULA and to act different toward the players, based not on moral or law or common sense but based only on the profit . If LL chosed the same path, to open the security gates for the sake of increase the player base , then SL is not for me. Or im not for SL.Im very sure about what i want from a MMORPG , where real cash are involved : security and a mature community .

From: Tsukasa Karuna This scares the living sh*t out of me.. its only a matter of time until somone who hasnt been watching their kids catches them on the adult grid engaged in something M rated, and decides to sue LL for endangering their child. If kid had given mommies or some one elses CC then kids ass would be grass. Now if no credit card was used then I expect that mommie going to have some issues to take to a lawyer who all work on a piece of the pie. LL has to ban all un verified from Mature areas. Put a rating system on Skins and objects. I have yet to get a clear definition on the tools offered. If it is as Philip said that we get just LSL script to boot them out then the griefer can still bomb shout and be a LowLife as it will be a few seconds before the script bounces the person out. We need this at a land/estate level. I feel for those in MainLand and on PG land. Targets to the griefers as the rest of SL gets closed off to them. I feel for new users who now get dropped in the middle of it. I feel for all the store owners. Sadly I don't get the feeling LL cares. Philip was implying that it is up to us to BAN BAN and keep banning and that we shouldn't look to Lindens to be the police. To many of us that was just as scary as the Verification issue. If I understood right (Hard when one gets booted over and over) LL sees them selves as the interenet and there for not responsible in any way to control what is going on. Need security, spend more L and hire a security company. Who polices the security companies? I was pleased to see that Philip Linden and all the other Lindens are human. They can't get in. They Die. They Get griefed. Tehy get trolled. Philip who is god could not carry on a talk. As far as a Moderated Talk goes it was a 100% outright disaster. Everthing that could go wrong did. We had at least 7 other Lindens there to make sure all was well and it wasn't. I wonder if they start to understand they have lost control. Jamie PS Thank you all who showed. The Protest was a 100% sucess. We behaved, we kept our cool and the trolls tried but could not get a nibble. Who was it who called us publicly "Jerks"? All praises to the "Valued Residents".
