How about "Eggy's Fascist Brochure of Lies"

Okay then something totally stupid like "SLiki"

Actually, what Siobhan said.

Haha, EFBL sounds like something someone would pass out near the Welcome Area with a "Map To the SLtars" or something. SLiki is fun to say, makes me think of something dirty though "She gave me a SLiki!", actualy Wiki kinda sounds like that anyway doesn't it? Hmm.

On the positive side, we have now had a solid argument presented against LL's dropping identification requirements before new memberships are made.

Or the negative side.

Hell, I'm just trying for a silver lining.

Trying to be OT: I think something short and simple like SLW or 2LW would be best. Either that or something insanely baroque like 'Second Life's Wikipedia Page for the Betterment of All Mankind and Reintroduction of Saber-Toothed Watermelons to the Wild'.

ETA: God help me, I actually like 'SLiki'.

SLWPBAMRSTWW, say that three times fast! A long title wouldn't be so bad, but you also want something thats easy to remember.

SLiki is kinda growing on me already, even though I generaly hate the "SLcombinewordhere" type names.

Yah, there's an overabundance of 'SL*' already, but that provides precendent, and is more a result of ease-of-use and commonality of seeing Second Life abbreviated 'SL' than anything else, I think. Plus, 'SLiki' sounds simultaneously geeky and vaguely dirty, which sums Second Life up nicely. :)

If you're nervous about the use of 'metaverse,' give 'meta-world' a roll instead.

I think it's a more accurate term anyway. It came to mind last year as I was starting to focus the weblog/webhome.

Edit - Elle, it looks fine, thanks. :)

I came back in here to check how things are doing. Thanx for the update, Elle.

Ontopic, I don't presently have a suggestion--it's rewarding to see how the "History Wiki" has broadened past its original scope a lot. It's a great resource, and mention it a lot... have done so since my early days as a Resi. A wiki like that just isn't born every day.

"SLiki" is cute. SLick, maybe. Or even SLeek. ;)

:p :p :p :p

^ Me, giving SLickies.

Is anyone else's heart filled with rage whenever they read "2L" as an abbrevation for 'Second Life'? I've only ever heard it used in articles written about SL, actually. Do people really do it in-world?

As far as I can tell from a brief perusal of all of this, a good name might be:

"Owned by Two Guys and Don't Argue with Them."

I wouldn't go that far, but I do find it rather annoying, yes.

Second Life Information & Resource Portal , acronym SLIRP - slogans "get slirped!", "have you been slirped today?" - commercial: big fat frog face, a fly buzzing around, frog tongue shoots outs and catches fly, big "Slurping" sound with a sound effects balloon that says SLIRP, then shows what the acronym stands for, then the url, www.slirp.com

Ugh, it does annoy me too. When giving a RL workshop about SL, some of the students started to use 2L and 2ndlife.com. I couldn't help myself and corrected them. Even though 2ndlife.com does work. <.<
