Creating new group! (to do with transit)

Ok, I was seriously thinking about this for along time. I hope you guys join in. Ok, so anyway, the group is called the SLTS (Second Life Transit System) which is like bus driving and that kind of stuff... Im willing to look for some good textures people, maybe a few good builders/scripters and some people to help me get things straight (basicly, commanding (officers,etc). Yea, so if anyone wants to join or has any ideas/opinions, please post! Thanks...

You need to define what the group DOES a little better.

It's unclear to me what it is you are hoping to accomplish. Like a transit system that covers all or large parts of SL? Maybe if you explain it a bit more

ok, well, There will be different types of jobs. One job includes driving the buses to certian locations. Another job includes making/editing the sctructures (buses,roads,bus stops,etc). As i stated before, there will be scripters, creators, texture-ers (lol), and yea... basicly what i said now and before.

I seem to Remeber Trinity Cole once had a taxicab service based out of Akasha Tower. Not sure what ever became of that.

But liek others have said i'm a bit unclear what you are asking...

o and there will be payment and fees.... (e.g. fee for joing, payment for driving). Its seems kinda unnatural "flying" to a place... (dispite that the game is not based on realism, it feels more fun... how can i say.... "waiting" instead of rushing to a place.

If you could state what is unclear, it would be more helpful

Most likley there will be no traveiling fees (unlike RL)

What is it you are tryign to accomplish.

You want texturers, scripters, builders...

to do what? with what funds? where? you want ground based busses or taxis, or air service? What is your contribution?

Most importantly why would someone use this transit service when we now have p2p teleporting?

Well, my accomplishment is to get a... buisness going here. And the reason is that because many newbies are not sure about how or where to travel, thus is why this would seem like a fun idea. Also, I would like to add that MANY people have no where to go or have nothing to do,so that the routes lead to arcades, shops, etc. this can also be a social kind of thing (people may meet each other on a bus). Ok.... that may have sounded kind of corny but you get my drift correct?

I get your drift, and it's a cute idea, but I don't think many people woud use it or have any interest in it in SL =/

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, heck I've been waiting for the train on the new continent to get up and going forever. You are talking about traversing large areas of SL to promote certain areas for AV's to visit (which may be fun) But this would involve crossing others' land hence the problem.

Edited to be clearer: Crossing their land wouldn't be the problem so much as finding continuous land to build roads and such on. And then again SL already has an extensive network of roads in many areas.

yes.. i am afraid of this... I know this might/will not work out, but I know many people out there like the feel of reality in another version (virtula rality). It feels good to be imperfect

Yes that is a very good point, I also think that most people woldn't like others on their property, but a little persuation can do the trick. Well, maybe not always but there is a way out of everything.
