Hey all --
I'm looking for some information on the SL experience from Caucasian players. If you are Caucasian and have spent time in SL, then you're just who I'm looking for. I am just going to ask you some questions -- and that's it! Please reply to this thread, contact me in-game or send me a private message here in the forums. Thanks a lot! Agreed, the original thread and the corresponding survey are legitimate and an attempt to understand the SL experience from a particular vantage point, one that I definitely think needs more exploration. There is a substantial amount of racism in SL - a lot more than people realize, and it goes on all the time in large and small ways. While I think the survey could have applied equally to many minorities in SL, it is completely reasonable to want to find out about experiences of one group of people. It is sad that people can't be mature enough to handle that and just need to nitpick and make fun of it. _____________________

I'm Australian, which is a polite way of saying "genetic mongrel". Ive got a bit of all sorts of things, so I'm polite to everyone regardless of their skin colour. Not only is it the decent thing to do, I'm probably related to them somehow!

It is sad that people can't be mature enough to handle that and just need to nitpick and make fun of it. Thank you Cristiano. Antipathy is a very good RL friend of Flipper and myself so I have been particularly annoyed at how rude, assholish and immature a lot of people have been towards her post. As everyone knows, I love being silly and joking around, but piling on a serious discussion about race is in very poor taste. There's a time and place for everything.
