That was one of several posts I found offensive. Reminded me of some very unpleasant times when I was obviously a "bad" person because of my gender.

I don't suppose people who make those comments count the number of times a woman hits a man on a television show.

And I was acknowledging in my supposedly sexist statement the fact that it isn't too surprising that a bunch of guys might be happy for a Linden deal that brought the SG girls here.

The way what you said came across was that it was the reason we don't have a problem with it is because we're men. I would have been just as happy (or in actuality equally ambivalent) if they had brought in a bunch of male strippers. I'm not supportive of this because I find this particular site appealing - I actually find the whole thing kind of trite and the goth girl scene is not really my thing, beautiful as the women on the site may be. I'm supportive of it because I think appealing to diverse groups is healthy.

Yeah it is not suprising that men are attracted to women or that men like porn (though there are many women who are also enthusiastic porn fans)- but in the what you said, it came across as us just thinking with our dicks and that we can't possibly have a valid opinion about this.

PS - yeah you only said one thing I said was sexist - I went back and edited, I had started the sentence differently to reference the two phrases I thought you might be referring to, and then I changed what I was saying and left in the two.

How would people feel about 'Cancer' as a last name? Pretty good, huh? You could call yourself Breast or Ovarian.

Cancer is English for the German word Krebs. Which is also a German last name. There's east European last names like Todd and Todt, which look and sound simular to the German word Tod = death. There's more examples around in different languages. Our family doctor in Germany for many years was a guy named Todt. I was a kid but that name neither offended nor scared me. It's just names fgs!

The problem I have with it being available is that other people are not so blessed as to be able to choose their last names.

My last name was used up long before I got into SL.

I've watched a friend who'd just come on strike up a conversation with one of the people who HAVE that name under the impression that they were me. It was most amusing.

Actually, like all polls this one was simplistic. I would have liked the option: "I don't find the last name Suicide offensive, but I do find it cheap and tacky."

I think it's pretty lame to get in a miff about the suicide girls thing. i don't like a lot of things, but it doesn't get my knickers in a twist.

I don't think there'd by any "name" that LL could come up with that would be offensive. mainly because I don't think other people should be responsible for my reactions.
