obviously they did it solely to annoy those of you who have weds off. its not at all because they need to fix anything.

Hmmmm. Apparently I need to update my Black Eyed Peas collection. Thank you. Yes. It's not fair to abuse the people that need access on Weds. Move it to Tuesday. Or make it a lottery or something.

From: Burke Prefect Remote Desktop, dude! You can't download a tiny little client like that? Absolutely not! I'm offended you would even suggest such a thing.

I wouldnt care if they had a video camera in my office and saw when I was about to logon to start patches as long as they FIXED some of the more annoying bugs that have been around awhile. Oh and pie.

From: Calranthe Charlton What I'm pointing out is there is no URGENT crash related bugs in these fixes MONTHLY patches would do. So basically you would perfer that LL wait a month between patches even if they have the fixes to these bugs done and just waiting to be patched in? Yet you state one of the reasons why you are mad is that SL is too buggy. I think the reason why you think that these patches are useless is because they do not directly effect you in a way to make you say WOW things are improving drastically, therefore the situation on SL is not getting better. So let me ask you this. If they told us tomorrow that they have finished integrating a better assets system but in favor of doing slower patching they wont be releasing it next week and instead they will be releasing it next month when the next mothly patch will be (on any day but wednesday). Would you still say the same thing?

Think of it like this - instead of 2-3 new bugs a week , you want a big update with 100's of them? and then wait weeeeks for them to fix it?,the rampant exploit SL would have then ~.~ Least its easier to spot the new bugs in weekly patches :>, i think SL have come a long way since i joined tho, couldnt even move in a sim with 20 av's before , now i been in sims with 40 and still very decent compared to before. Yes SL bugs tick me off quite alot to , trust me , they will never be bug free, theres no "final" version : p thank god cause that means SL wouldnt evolve,

Yeah. I kinda expected to see ActiveWorlds or some older Vworld, kicking SL's ass, but no, they never bother to go beyond what they have.

From: Calranthe Charlton What I'm pointing out is there is no URGENT crash related bugs in these fixes MONTHLY patches would do. Heck no. If I had to wait a whole month for a certain interface related bug to be fixed, I would have torn my hair out. Gimme patches. Fast and furious. Two per week. I want eight patch days a month until everything is perfect!

Personally, I like weekly patches ... I just wish there was more in them. Like pie, cowbell, or friends.

From: Vivianne Draper obviously they did it solely to annoy those of you who have weds off. its not at all because they need to fix anything. There's no need to be so snarky. I'm quite aware there needs to be 'updates' done to hopefully improve SL and I know it's not done just to irritate me. When I first joined SL over a year ago the updates were pretty random and on different days and not every week which i thought was the way it was and should be. It has only been the last month and a half where someone in LL must have decided to do updates every week and on Wednesday, which is something that should have been set in place within a year of SL being active and not just recently discussed. I'm sure if SL was always down on your only day off to get things done and visit with people you don't get to see often then you'd be pretty pissed too. I can't even do my landscaping jobs now because I did them on Wednesdays. It's always funny how some people can't see the other side and belittle others unless it happens to them...

I'm sure if SL was always down on your only day off to get things done and visit with people you don't get to see often then you'd be pretty pissed too. If this is a better way for them to do it, then they should implement it regardless of the fact that they couldn't get organized to do it before. Also, the response to your very own SL Answers question seems to address your concerns somewhat From: Robin Linden Hi Zsuzsanna - I'm sorry the updates have disrupted your plans! Generally we like to update on Wednesdays because it allows us the greatest flexibility in testing and preparing for the release. We'd like to standardize on a specific day for releasing to help people plan, and we should know in the next month or so whether that day will be Wednesday or not.
Longer term we're working on a way that we don't have to shut the whole grid down to do an update, but can role out a new release in large geographic regions -- by estate, for example. For now, though, bringing the grid down remains the best way for us to continue to add improvements to both performance and features. And I would, indeed, find it terribly annoying to have this happen on my day off.

I'm very happy they decided to move Patch Day from Tuesdays to Wednesdays. My husband has Tuesdays off from dialysis and the last thing he wants to do is anything that isn't SL. This is much better for us.

From: vivi Odets /me sings:
my hump, my hump, my lovely lady lumps (check it out!)
/me hangs head in shame... Now that friggin' song is running through my head.......ARGH!!! And as far as this patch thingie....LL needs to do something for their wonderful customers who are dealing with this (even though we have no choice). Some sort of compensation for all the downtime.
