I loved Myst back in the day. My heart still aches for it with such a sense of adventure!

Who else has seen this blog entry by Robyn Miller, co-creator of Myst?

Tinselman: Selenitic Second Life

featuring photos of work by Resident aDen Ennui!

Now... I gotta say...

SVARGA ROCKS! AND PLANTS! AND ALL SORTS OF A-LIFE!!!

now that I've declared that, I of course *love* adventures and gorgeous atmospheres in my experiences. I am a YUGE fan of Ragnar Tornquist, designer of The Longest Journey and Dreamfall. I have a term, "SierraLucas", for evocative places with such degrees of epic magnitude. The lushness of an ambience, really.

Anyone who's into Dreamfall knows why I look like this too:

(If your time is short, see this.)

So in closing, I'd like to thank Lauk for letting me take pictures at her lovely home.

WHOOSH-WHOOSH-WHOOSH

VISIT THE GOVERNOR'S MANSION IN CLEMENTINA
(can't miss it on the hill)
YOU HAVE BEEN ENCOURAGED!!!

I think it is a lot of fun for the newbies to visit the temple and unravel the mysteries around Govenor Linden. Hehe, maybe we can make it part of a mini adventure.

I'm up for that too send me your ideas if you feel inclined, no worries if not :)

The true god of SL is an omnipresent, crossdressing force! It is not Philip Linden, it is not Jeska, Robin or even Torley! It is Govenor Linden!!! The other Lindens have tricked us. They made us believe that they were the gods so we don't get angry if we find too many bugs in SL.

Sounds like you have a lot of ideas already !

Feel free to include our temple in Svarga or not as you see fit, I didn't mean to derail this thread :)

Including other temples into the project seems a good idea. I would like to see a lot of interactive elements, you know, secret passages and chambers which the visitor has to discover to solve a puzzle. And in each temple, you get a piece of an ancient artifact.

Maybe we can have an object of Govenor Linden with an pay script, so we can give our stipends back via that object (see economy forum).

Of course all this will rely on donations and I have a cool idea for that. I've seen an object with the soul of a resident in Nicole Linden's home. I thought it could be cool to have a room called "the hall of the lost souls", in which one can place his "soul" for a small weekly fee. It is like a bis display of all the donators, like the "hall of fame".

And what about a graveyard or some catacombs, where every Linden, who has decided to leave the team (example Hamlet Linden), gets a tomb stone.

Just a few thoughts.

I've visited the Svarga temple and I think the textures are simply mind blowing. Good work on that.

I would like to buy a plot near the new WA, but the sims aren't up for sale yet. :(

But wait!! Mad Wombat, don't you see the mystery still is not solved!

The name sir, the name! "Governor Linden"

Governor is masculine. the feminine would be "Governess". Yet Governor Linden appears as a female!

There is more even. What are Governor Lindens initials? GL!!
Perhaps as in Open GL!

It is obvious that she(he?) is in total control of all graphics functions of Second Life at the very least!

Not sayin Governor Linden is a tranny. Just stating that the truth still seems shrouded in mystery and confusion.

I wonder what happens to people who do discover the truth?

You are clutching at straws here. in Reality, of the 50 governors of the 50 American states, the governors of eight states -- Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, and Washington -- are female; not a single one of them uses the title of "Governess."

Your argument is full of holes. And Governor Linden is a hottie.

I loved all the myst series. Myst 1 was my favorite (expecially the realmyst version of it). The only one i wasnt pleased with was URU. Even after i was able to connect it to the player servers it still kinda stunk to me. Didn't have enough to do. :p It was still a wanderful looking environment though, and i still have it installed. So it wasn't that bad. :)

The part of Myst 1 i loved most was Channelwood. I was always hoping someone would build that in SL. someone came close to building the Stoneship but was told by LL to take it down. :/

Oh and about Governer linden... I spotted her too, when Serenity Woods first opened. :)
